'Carmen' closes opera season

SEATTLE — Seattle Opera will close its 2025–26 season with “Carmen,” running May 2–17 at McCaw Hall.

The production of Georges Bizet's popular opera returns in a staging first seen in 2019. The work follows the independent and charismatic Carmen, whose relationship with soldier Don Jose spirals into obsession and violence, set to some of opera's most recognizable music.
