Beacon screens WTO documentary

SEATTLE — The Beacon Cinema will host a screening of “WTO/99” on May 2 at 7 p.m., offering a retrospective look at one of the city's most defining modern events.

Directed by Ian Bell, the 2025 documentary runs 102 minutes and is constructed entirely from archival footage. The film chronicles the four-day clash between the World Trade Organization and more than 40,000 protesters who filled Seattle's streets in 1999, raising concerns about labor, human rights and globalization.
