Golden Gardens shuttle launches

SEATTLE — A new seasonal transit service will provide direct bus access between downtown Ballard and Golden Gardens Park this summer.

King County Metro and the city of Seattle will launch Golden Gardens Direct on Saturday as a pilot project aimed at improving access to the popular beach destination while reducing traffic and parking demand. The service will operate daily through Aug. 30 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., with buses running every 30 minutes.
