Shark festival in Des Moines

DES MOINES — The second annual Shark in the Park festival will return to Redondo Beach from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 12, celebrating the seasonal return of bluntnose sixgill sharks that use the shallow waters off Des Moines as a nursery during the summer.

The free, all-ages event will feature live music, food trucks, marine exhibits, local vendors, family activities and free admission to Highline College's MaST Center Aquarium.
