Ichiro Suzuki can't salvage the Mariners' dismal season this weekend, but he may able to snag a single-season hitting record.

SEATTLE After smacking hit No. 256 in Oakland yesterday, Ichiro Suzuki has come within two hits of breaking Major League Baseball's single-season hits record of 257 set by George Sisler in 1920. With three games to go this season, he'll likely break the record when the Seattle Mariners return to Safeco Field this weekend to face the Texas Rangers.
