After Hours: National Trust picks Ellensburg

The Davidson Building was one of the first structures built after “the great fire” in Ellensburg. It has a phoenix rising out of the ashes on the pediment and another one painted on the side.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The National Trust for Historic Preservation’s 2007 list of a “Dozen Distinctive Destinations” ranges from the town where Monticello is located to Hillsborough, N.C., home of a 1949 NASCAR speedway. The town of Ellensburg made the list.
