BAKER CITY, Ore. (AP) — A European-style bed-to-bed hiking trail is coming to northeastern Oregon's Blue Mountains.
The first phase of the Blue Mountain Heritage Trail will be ready to hike when the snow melts. Organizer Dick Hentze of Baker City says the 870-mile trail uses parts of about 2,000 miles of existing U.S. Forest Service hiking and horse trails.
