Copper River road named scenic byway

ANCHORAGE (AP) — The state Transportation Department has designated the Copper River Highway as an Alaska State Scenic Byway.

The 52-mile highway out of Cordova follows an abandoned railroad track that brought copper ore to the Cordova harbor in the early 1900s.
