NEW YORK (AP) — The Whitney Museum of American Art will operate six days a week when it opens its new facility in downtown Manhattan on May 1.
The museum says the spacious Renzo Piano-designed facility will allow it to display more of its modern and contemporary art collection. It also will mount more exhibitions and programs.
