SEATTLE — The St. Demetrios Greek Festival runs today through Sunday at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Montlake, with traditional Greek food, music, dancing, wine, shopping and a children's area.
The church is at 2100 Boyer Ave. E. Admission is free.
Lamb gyros, calamari and souvlaki will be served, plus homemade Greek desserts and pastries. Greek wine tasting will be available all weekend, and you can try Greek beer and wine in the Taverna — with big screen TVs showing the weekend's football, baseball and soccer games.
Dance groups will perform, and music from Taki and the Mad Greeks will be on the main stage. Church tours also are available.
The festival is staffed by volunteers, and proceeds support St. Demetrios' ministries and community outreach. Information is at www.SeattleGreekFestival.com.
