ISSAQUAH — “The Gin Game” tells the story of two strangers who enter into a seemingly harmless game of gin rummy. When one goes on an instant winning streak, tensions build and the conversion starts to get personal.
The 1976 play, which won the Pulitzer Prize for drama, opened last week at Village Theatre in Issaquah and runs through Feb. 25. It then moves on to Village Theatre in Everett, where it will run March 2-25.
“The story is simple,” says director Jeff Steitzer, “but as we dig deeper and discover the complexities of these characters we've been really impressed by how universal the story is. And how funny!”
Tickets for the Issaquah performances are $30-$72. The theater is a 303 Front St. N. Call (425) 392-2202 or reserve tickets online at http://villagetheatre.org.
