SEATTLE — McCaw Hall will host “Blue,” the Music Critics Association's 2020 winner for Best New Opera starting Feb. 26 and running through Mar. 12. Tickets range from $35-$199.
“Blue,” an opera by librettist Tazewell Thompson and composer Jeanine Tesori, is a portrait of contemporary African American life: of love and loss, church, sisterhood and family. A young couple celebrates the joy of family with the birth of their son. And, later leans on their close-knit community in the aftermath of his death at the hands of a police officer.
