At The Movies: Quaid looks (and sounds) the part, but ‘Reagan' is more campaign ad than biopic

Dennis Quaid has experience playing presidents and gets down pat the charismatic smile, the pomaded hairdo and especially the familiar, folksy voice. Still, “Reagan,” feels more like an extended, glowing campaign commercial than a biopic.

“Is there anything worse than an actor with a cause?” asks an annoyed Jane Wyman, Ronald Reagan's first wife, early in “Reagan,” the new biopic starring Dennis Quaid.
