Lynden Transport driver Fred Johnston has been named Driver of the Year by the Alaska Trucking Association. The award is presented annually to an Alaskan professional truck driver who holds a first-class driving record and demonstrates outstanding professionalism and courtesy, both on and off the road. Johnston has been a professional truck driver for 38 years. His scheduled twice-weekly run takes him to areas between Haines and Anchorage, averaging 13,000 to 14,000 miles a month. Lynden Transport is a complete multi-modal, regional, common and contract freight carrier primarily serving Alaska.
