Dozer, excavator at work pulling logs from the Nooksack River

The logs were pulled by a cable-and-pulley system with the help of a John Deere excavator and dozer.

Work took place last week to drag displaced logs from the Nooksack River in an effort to protect the hillside supporting Mount Baker Highway (state Route 542) near Maple Falls.
