NAC Architecture

In Seattle, NAC Architecture promoted Teresa Alvarado to senior associate and Liz Katz and Sarah Finis to associate. Alvarado is an architectural designer working on Tillicum Middle School replacement in Bellevue. She is co-chair of AIA Seattle's International Architecture Forum. Katz is an architect who works with school districts to support bond planning, and visioning processes. She is working on Seattle Public Schools' Wing Luke Elementary School. Finis is an interior designer working on the Student Union renovation for the University of Providence in Great Falls. NAC provides planning, design, engineering and capital facilities consulting services.

In Seattle, Bohlin Cywinski Jackson promoted Ethan Kushner to senior associate and Benjamin Doty and Michael Henderson to associate. Kushner has 20 years of architectural experience. Since joining BCJ in 2013, he has contributed to residential towers, corporate workplaces, retail environments and houses. Doty has over 25 years of experience focused on design technology for projects that range from houses to hospitals. Henderson joined the firm in 2011 and has been integral to the design of several complex projects including Nu Skin Innovation Center and Ae'o Tower.

Seattle-based Upward Architecture and Interiors hired Kristin Lucovsky as an interior designer. Lucovsky has eight years of experience on multifamily, hospitality and custom houses in California, Arizona, Florida and Washington. She is working on Double Canyon Winery in West Richland. Upward provides architecture, interior design and project management.

McKinstry

Floyd

In Seattle, McKinstry promoted Brian Floyd to vice president and general manager for energy and technical services and Justin Fallstrom to regional director for Oregon and Washington energy. Floyd was vice president, Midwest and South regions, and will now provide leadership for the national energy and technical services group. He will focus on business development. Fallstrom will manage the energy project business. He was hired 10 years ago, and most recently was energy operations manager.

Beck

Habliston

Bellevue-based AUE promoted Alex Habliston to principal, and said Mitchell Beck and Drew Hopkins earned professional engineering licenses. Habliston has over 14 years of engineering experience, including ground-up, tenant improvement, and MEP bracing design. Beck and Hopkins are project engineers who each have four years of design experience in commercial TI and retail ground-up design. AUE is a structural design firm, with an office also in New York City.

Carlson

Mountlake Terrace-based Terracon Consulting hired Mary Ann Carlson as client development manager, Fernanda Madrona as a project engineer and Madeleine Hummer as an environmental technician. Carlson has over 30 years of experience in AEC business development and marketing. She specializes in design-build and indefinite delivery contracts. Madrona has 10 years of experience in geotechnical and structural engineering, design, planning and coordination for transportation projects. She is working on the I-80 Black Rock Structure Replacement project in Utah. Hummer has a bachelor's in geology from the University of Washington. She has experience with environmental site assessments for telecommunications, commercial, industrial, retail, residential and undeveloped properties. Terracon provides environmental assessments and remediation, hazardous materials management, geotechnical engineering, materials testing and special inspection, and industrial hygiene and occupational health and safety training services.

DLR Group

In Seattle, DLR Group hired Kaitlyn Edge (interiors) and Nathaniel Gundersen and Shannon Payton (both architecture). DLR provides architecture, engineering, interiors, planning, and building optimization for new construction, renovation and adaptive reuse.

Kitsap Reclamation & Materials

ACG Materials, a miner and processor of industrial minerals and aggregates, acquired Kitsap Reclamation & Materials. Kitsap Reclamation mines and processes aggregates used in infrastructure, building products and landscaping. It operates a basalt quarry in Bremerton and ships its products throughout the Seattle area. ACG is based in Norman, Oklahoma.

Sequoyah Electric

Cheryl Nagel, CFO of Redmond-based Sequoyah Electric, was nominated for the 2018 Joe Quigley Memorial Award by the Construction Financial Management Association. The award recognizes outstanding chapter participation and activity. Nominees and the winner will be recognized at the CFMA Annual Conference & Exhibition in late June in Florida.

Mission Support Alliance

Hanford contractor Mission Support Alliance donated $12,000 to The Children's Reading Foundation of the Mid-Columbia to support the Read Up program. The funds will be used to buy books for over 350 incoming third graders in the Tri-Cities.

BakerHostetler

BakerHostetler added Michael Moyer as a partner working on corporate finance, project finance and other complex transactions. Moyer is the first partner in the Business Group to be based in the Seattle office. He comes from Cairncross & Hempelmann, and has more than 20 years of experience as a corporate finance attorney. BakerHostetler has more than 940 lawyers in 14 offices across the country.

Know Labs

Bill Owens, co-founder and executive chairman of Red Bison Advisory Group, joined the board of Know Labs. Owens is a retired admiral. Seattle-based Know Labs directs structured light or radio waves through substances to capture molecular signatures used for identification, authentication and diagnosis.
