Seattle Art Museum

Diaz

The Seattle Art Museum announced that Jose Carlos Diaz will be the museum's Susan Brotman deputy director for art, following an international search. Since May 2016, Diaz has served as the chief curator at The Andy Warhol Museum, part of the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh. He will assume his position with SAM in July. He succeeds Chiyo Ishikawa, who retired in 2020 after 30 years at the museum. In his role at SAM, Diaz will oversee the museum's artistic program, leading eight curators and other staff in exhibitions, collections, publications and libraries to present art in support of SAM's mission. Diaz is a specialist in contemporary art, multidisciplinary programming, and an expert on Andy Warhol. Prior to his role at The Warhol, Diaz was the curator of exhibitions at The Bass in Miami Beach. Diaz also held positions at Tate Liverpool and at the Liverpool Biennial. In 2003, Diaz tenured as curatorial intern at The Rubell Museum in Miami. He received a BA in art history from San Francisco State University and a MA in cultural history from the University of Liverpool. Diaz was a 2018 Fellow at the Center for Curatorial Leadership and chaired the Curatorial Leadership Summit at The Armory Show in 2020. He currently serves on the board of trustees for the Association of Art Museum Curators.

Aduro

Aduro promoted Justin Jed and Cliff Drane to their executive leadership team, as chief operating officer and chief experience officer, respectively. Both Jed and Drane have extensive software and agency leadership experience, bringing a combined 50+ years in product development, user experience, and employee wellbeing technology to the team. Jed started at Aduro as general manager of the new markets division. He formerly worked as the vice president of product management at employee wellbeing company Limeade, as head of product, platforms and background check and user experience at software company Sterling, and director of product management and planning at Microsoft. Drane joined Aduro in 2021 as vice president of product & design for the new markets division. He previously worked as vice president of design and user experience at Under Armour, group creative director at Razorfish, and vice president of creative & user experience, and VP of global expansion for Limeade. As chief operating officer, Jed is tasked with leading the Aduro client and member experience teams and business operations team. As chief experience officer, Drane will lead marketing, PR and brand for Aduro, as well as provide vision for the customer and user experience across the entire range of Aduro solutions. Based in Redmond, Aduro is a SaaS provider of corporate wellness solutions.

Frazier Healthcare Partners

Frazier Healthcare Partners, a Seattle-based, healthcare-focused private equity firm, announced the completion of its acquisition of Apollo Intelligence, a provider of real-time data and insights to the healthcare and life science industries. Apollo was founded in 2019. The Apollo platform launched with its acquisition of InCrowd, a pioneer of real-time, automated insights for the life science industry. In 2020, Apollo acquired Survey Healthcare Global, a global market leader of first-party healthcare data collection and custom survey solutions. Frazier Executive in Residence, Vivek Sharma, will join Apollo as executive chairman on the board of directors. Sharma has extensive experience leading tech-enabled healthcare services organizations supporting the life science end market, including most recently as CEO of Decision Resources Group before its sale to Clarivate. Frazier Center of Excellence Partner, Ken McLaren, will similarly play a role in developing and executing Apollo's growth strategy, leveraging his prior experiences as SVP of data analytics and insights at Clarivate and chief strategy officer at DRG. Assisting in this agreement was Kirkland & Ellis, acting as legal advisor to Frazier. Apollo was advised by Canaccord Genuity (lead financial advisor), Houlihan Lokey Capital (co-financial advisor), and the law firm of Goodwin Procter.

BNBuilders

Sanborn

Matt Sanborn joined BNBuilders as a senior project executive supporting the company's five regional offices in Seattle, the Bay Area, Los Angeles/Orange County, San Diego and Denver. Sanborn has over 25 years of experience in business development and operations at national firms, with the last 15 years spent leading operations and business development initiatives at an executive level. He has held leadership roles at both Skanska and DPR Construction, specializing in the health care sector and design-build projects. At BNB, he is focusing on corporate business development, strategy, and aiding in growing the company's national client base.

Compass Construction

In Kirkland, Compass Construction hired Olivia Ma as estimator, Jim Berglind as IT director and Jackson Coleman as project engineer. The company also promoted Mike Gilbert from field superintendent to superintendent. Ma has five years of estimating experience in the Seattle area. She holds bachelor's and master's degrees in civil engineering. Berglind previously led an IT consultancy for over 25 years. His client base primarily represented the tech, aerospace and construction sectors — including Compass for 18 years. Coleman holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from the University of Portland. Gilbert has been with the company for 2.5 years.

ABC of Western Washington

The Associated Builders and Contractors of Western Washington signed up two new members: Ayko Group of Gig Harbor; and R&S Electric of Arlington. Ayko is a general contracting and construction management company working in the commercial sector and with U.S. government agencies, including the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense. R&S specializes in electrical and low-voltage work on commercial and residential projects.

Habitat Seattle-King County

Habitat Seattle-King County had over 500 guests at its recent 2022 Beyond the Build luncheon. The event raised over $1.6 million, including matching funds, for affordable housing projects. Bank of America and Steve Hill were recognized at the event for their contributions. Bank of America has been a corporate partner for over 25 years, and Hill was named Volunteer of the Year for his service on a Weyerhaeuser alumni campaign that will provide housing for 10 families over five years.

Schroeter Goldmark & Bender

Julie Kline, a former King County senior deputy prosecutor, joined Seattle-based law firm Schroeter Goldmark & Bender. Kline also was senior advisor and interim general counsel to former Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan. She has over 20 years of experience advocating for victims. At SGB, Kline's practice is focusing on violent crimes; sexual assault and harassment; serious injury and wrongful death; elder and vulnerable adult abuse; and medical malpractice.

Skytap

Seattle-based Skytap hired tech veteran Barney Silver as chief financial officer. Silver was formerly vice president of finance and operations for BitTitan, a local SaaS company. Skytap is a cloud service built to natively run traditional systems in Microsoft Azure and IBM Cloud.

Jensen Investment Management

Lake Oswego, Oregon-based Jensen Investment Management appointed Shannon Contreras to its board. Contreras joined Jensen in 2014, and has been the firm's director of finance and senior compliance officer. She also serves as treasurer of the Jensen Quality Growth Fund. Jensen is an employee-owned equity investment management firm.
