Hermanson Co. senior project managers Andrea Smith and Bill Misocky were promoted to construction executives. Smith is construction executive in the Highrise, Hospitality & Office group, while Misocky is construction executive in the Tech Major Projects group. Smith has 11 years of industry experience and has been with Hermanson for eight years. Misocky has been with Hermanson for three years and has more than 40 years of experience in the industry. Hermanson is a full-service mechanical contractor based out of Kent, with offices in Seattle, Redmond, Portland and Eugene, Oregon.

Shelley Miller, PLA, AICP, PMP has joined Parametrix as a senior planner. She has over 15 years of experience providing public transportation planning services to agencies across the United States.
Miller comes to Parametrix from OAC Services where she served as a senior project manager. She specializes in transit corridor asset project management and construction, including urban design, landscape, stations, and vehicles and their amenities.
Her project experience includes work for King County Metro, the Port of Seattle, and TriMet.
Miller is a professional landscape architect and project management professional and is certified through the American Institute of Certified Planners. She holds master's degrees in regional planning and landscape architecture.
She joins the firm's Seattle Transportation team, providing planning services to clients throughout the Puget Sound region.

Bremerton-based multidisciplinary engineering services firm Art Anderson has hired Jennifer Tucker as their new accountant. Tucker comes to the team with decades of experience in multiple areas of finance and accounting and experience working for other engineering firms.













Ankrom Moisan recently promoted 34 staff members across its three offices including 13 in the Seattle office.
In Seattle, Casey Scalf was promoted to director of The Society, Ankrom Moisan's independent hospitality design firm.

Nandita Kamath and Megan Kim have been promoted to senior associate/architecture and Hans Fagerlund, Doug Grove, Michael Lama, Annabell Nikolov and Melanie Pakingan have been promoted to associate/architecture.

SanMar, a supplier of wholesale accessories and apparel, appointed John Janson as vice president, global logistics. Janson is a logistics leader who brings transportation management expertise to SanMar's executive team. During his nearly 40-year career, he has served more than six years at SanMar, most recently as senior director of global logistics. Before SanMar, Janson served in leadership roles in transportation management for MWI Animal Health and global transportation for Bodybuilding.com. Janson started his career in the trucking industry, and is a graduate of Boise State University. In 2022, Janson was honored by DC Velocity with its annual Rain Maker award, celebrating leaders making a difference in the world of logistics. He has served on advisory boards for NASTRAC, the University of Auburn Logistics and the Parcel Forum. Family owned and operated, SanMar is based in Issaquah, with nine distribution centers nationwide and apparel from more than 30 brands.
Coeur D' Alene-based Hecla Mining has entered into a non-binding Letter of Intent to acquire ATAC Resources (ATAC) and its Rackla and Connaught projects in Yukon, Canada. Under the proposed transaction, the company would acquire all of the issued and outstanding shares of ATAC, payable in shares of Hecla common stock. Additionally, the company intends to make a strategic investment into a new exploration company (Spinco) which would hold the remaining assets of ATAC. The key provisions of the LOI are non-binding and any acquisition would only occur pursuant to a definitive agreement with customary representations, warranties, covenants and conditions to closing. Founded in 1891, Hecla Mining is the largest silver producer in the United States.
As part of ongoing efforts to build upon the existing entrepreneurial ecosystem in Tacoma, the city of Tacoma's Community and Economic Development Department is leveraging Washington State Department of Commerce's Small Business Innovation Fund (SBIF) dollars to partner with three organizations specializing in technical assistance for small and micro businesses. From March 2023 through May 2023, Devland, Kay Tita, and Spaceworks Tacoma will use one-time SBIF funding provided by the city to roll out three new programs focusing on technical assistance for small and micro-businesses in the areas of financial and digital literacy and readiness. Devland's GROW Program supports micro enterprises looking to advance their businesses through efficient operations. They will be selecting 12 micro businesses and begin programming for confirmed participants in the first week of March. The Kay Tita Digital Sales Access Program seeks to bridge the digital divide that impacts immigrant, minority, and small businesses, particularly those operating as cash-only or those in need of support in the areas of financial management, marketing and e-commerce. The goal is to help 65 Tacoma-based business owners grow their businesses in these areas, by providing them with free point of sale systems and training. Spaceworks Tacoma aims to provide training, technical assistance, and financial resources to 35 graduates of its incubator programs to grow their digital marketing efforts. This includes web design, social media content creation, product photography, video creation, paid advertising, e-commerce platforms, and accounting and invoicing software. Eligible small businesses based in Tacoma should submit an application directly through these organizations. Mukilteo-based UMC named Troy Turpin and Ryan Hoggatt as shareholders in the company. Turpin is UMC's development director, and Hoggatt is manufacturing director. UMC says both have been with the firm for many years and play critical roles in its current operations and future growth. Turpin has over 23 years of experience working in mechanical design and construction, with various roles in energy consulting, project management and business development. As a certified energy manager (CEM), he has been responsible for development and concept planning of large-scale projects with sustainability goals or requirements. Hoggatt has been with UMC since 2008. He is responsible for corporate manufacturing and virtual construction strategy, standards, and operation, as well as construction technology adoption and implementation. He has developed the company's prefabrication business that supports modular construction and drives efficiencies throughout the construction delivery process. UMC is a mechanical engineering, facilities maintenance and construction company.

Courtney Soyring rejoined Ascendent Demolition in Puyallup as a project manager/estimator. He started with Ascendent 12 years ago as a laborer, and has 18 years of experience in all aspects of demolition — from field work to management, including EPA mediation sites, select demo and total wrecks.
Design-build mechanical contractor MacDonald-Miller Facility Solutions announced its commitment to The Climate Pledge. The company says it has been an environmental steward for decades, designing mechanical systems that are energy-efficient for developers and building owners. Signing The Climate Pledge aligns the company's external business goals with its internal goals and values. As part of the pledge, MacDonald-Miller will: regularly report greenhouse gas emissions; carry out decarbonization strategies in line with The Paris Agreement; and neutralize any remaining emissions with offsets to achieve net-zero annual carbon emissions by 2040.
