Harborview Medical Center

Vivian Cary Jenkins, chief operating officer, and Joseph A. Marotta, administrative director of Radiology, Security and Commuter Services at Seattle's Harborview Medical Center, have been advanced to fellow status in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), an international professional society representing over 30,000 healthcare executives. Fellow status is the highest level of professional achievement in the college. To obtain the designation, members must demonstrate their education, experience and leadership in the healthcare field over a period of several years, and complete a significant project on a subject related to healthcare management. There are currently 2,900 health care executives in the nation who have earned Fellow status, of which 294 are women.

Century 21

Craig Barone has been named business consultant for the Century 21 Northwest Region, which consists of 185 independently owned and operated real estate brokerage offices throughout Washington, Oregon and Western Idaho. Barone has over 20 years of experience in the real estate industry. He was previously vice president of franchise development for Qpoint International. A real estate agent in college, Barone opened his first Century 21 office in 1975, expanding to become the largest multi-office Century 21 brokerage in the state of Ohio. He also previously served as regional director for Re/Max of Ohio and as marketing director for Bellevue-based Re/Max Pacific Northwest. Barone will work in Century 21's regional office in SeaTac.

Seattle Schools

Joseph Olchefske has been appointed chief financial officer for Seattle Schools, succeeding June McHaney who resigned her position to launch a new business. Olchefske comes to Seattle Schools from Piper Jaffray where he was founder and managing director of the public finance department for the past 11 years. At Piper Jaffray, Olchefske acted as financial adviser and underwriter for such public corporations as the Port of Seattle, University of Washington, City of Seattle, and various cities and counties, assisting them with financial planning and bond issuances.

The Hotel Group

Amy Spain has been named director of sales for the Holiday Inn Hotel & Conference Center-Everett, managed by Seattle-based The Hotel Group. Prior to joining the 249-room facility, Spain was a customer service representative for Accusystems in Seattle. Her background includes serving as director of sales for the Holiday Inn, Dayton Mall, Dayton, Ohio; and the Sheraton Greenway Inn, Phoenix, Ariz. She also has served as sales manager for the Doubletree Inn, located in Phoenix, and the Scottsdale Plaza Resort in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Prism Group

WOODINVILLE (PRN) -- Prism Group Inc., a Woodinville software manufacturing company, has announced the creation of its new software manufacturing company, Prism Software Production (PSP), and the appointment of Colin Aldworth as its president. PSP was formed by integrating the operations of Prism Group's Software Production Inc. and MicroDisk subsidiaries, a move the company expects will yield greater operational efficiencies. Aldworth comes to PSP from Wall Data Inc., a publicly held $100 million software development firm, where he was manager of operations, responsible for all product specifications, printing and packaging, inventory, fulfillment, quality assurance, vendor management, technical specifications and product localization. Prior to Wall Data, Aldworth was a senior executive for an international printing and paper manufacturer where he was responsible for operations and new technologies.

Andersen Consulting & Co.

Andersen Consulting, a $3.45 billion global management and technology consulting organization, has promoted Fred N. Higgins and Gwen E. Houser associate partners in its Seattle office. The company also announced the promotion of 16 managers: Charles D. Angevine, Sandeep K. Arora, Lee J. Baldwin, Jonathan A. Croy, Paul J. Davenport, J. Andrew Dutton, Mark D. Hadland, Darrin R. Argentum Photo & Digital Imaging

Seattle-based digital imaging facility Argentum Photo & Digital Imaging has been acquired by Prolab Inc., a provider of photographic services to the Northwest for over 21 years. Prolab has recently made an investment in state-of-the-art digital technology and formed a digital imaging department which will be staffed and supervised by Argentum personnel. Prolab is also establishing a satellite office in downtown Seattle.

Pierce Transit

Pierce Transit operators Valerie Anderson and John Rourick have been named operator of the quarter for the first and second quarter of 1995, respectively. Both operators were recognized at meetings of Pierce Transit's Board of commissioners and received a day off with pay for their efforts.

Free loan workshops

Free workshops are being offered by the Mountlake Terrace Branch of Continental Mortgage Company on the FHA 203k Rehab and Remodel loan. This loan allows individuals to make repairs or improvements to an existing home, and roll the cost of the work done into a low-interest home mortgage. Craig Hill and Timothy Good have recently joined the Seattle office of Grubb & Ellis. Hill joins the office properties division as a vice president. Prior to joining the company, Hill was a vice president and director of corporate services with CB Commercial. Good who joins Grubb & Ellis as a vice president in the investment properties division was also previously with CB Commercial.

Key Bank receives recognition

The National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) gave special recognition to the corporate efforts of Key Bank of Washington and its member, Washington Reinvestment Alliance (WRA). Key bank signed an agreement with WRA to give non-profit counseling agencies in Washington $60,000 a year (over five years) to provide pre-purchase housing counseling to low-income households.

Help for Latino homebuyers

Bedford Falls Funding, a new Seattle-based mortgage banking company designed to serve the needs of Latinos in Washington, will hold a reception Sept. 21 at the Columbia Tower Club in Seattle from 5 to 7 pm. Speakers include Kim Herman of the Washington State Housing Finance Commission and Judy Dailey of the Federal Home Loan Bank. Bedford Falls will target low and moderate income families and encourage would-be homeowners to contact a tollfree number for information. Spanish speaking loan consultants will help callers with mortgage questions or applications.
