Darrell Heath has joined Lifestyles, a Woodinville manufacturer of bathtubs and spas. He is responsible for plumber direct sales. Heath has more than 25 years of experience in the plumbing industry with 20 years spent in bathtub sales.

Pope Resources

George H. Folquet, president and chief executive officer of Pope Resources, is retiring on Dec. 31, capping a nearly 30-year career with the Pope & Talbot organization. In 1984 Folquet took helm of the publicly traded limited partnership, which has 78,000 acres of timberland and development property in the Puget Sound area of Washington state. He took the company public a year later. Folquet also served as Pope & Talbot Inc.'s chief financial officer between 1967 and 1984. During his tenure, the company's operations rose from $20 million in sales to $25 million in profits in 1979. He also put Pope & Talbot on the New York Stock Exchange in 1972.

The Traver Company

Seattle graphic design firm the Traver Company has relocated from downtown to Belltown. The company's new office is located in the Banner Building, 80 Vine Street. The company also announced that senior designer Nancy Kinnear has been promoted to manager of electronic and print production. Kinnear has been a designer at the firm for 12 years and has been electronic systems manager for five years.

Wilmer Communications Group

Katherine Park has joined Seattle's Wilmer Communications Group Inc., an advertising and marketing agency specializing in the hospitality and travel industry, as its new vice president/general manager. Park has 11 years of experience in the advertising and marketing business. She most recently served as vice president/marketing director for G.T. Rapp & Co. Previously, she was the account & media supervisor at Sellers, D'Arcy Mesius Benton & Bowles, in Honolulu, Hawaii. While in Honolulu, Park also worked at advertising agency Starr Seigle McCombs Inc. as administrator of special projects.

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army will serve Christmas dinner for 500 hungry people on Monday, Dec. 25, from noon to 2 p.m., and needs your help putting food on the table. The public is asked to contribute turkeys, homemade pies, dinner rolls, breads and cookies, and deliver them from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Dec. 22-23, to the Salvation Army William Booth Center at 811 Maynard Ave. S., in Seattle. The Army also needs fresh oranges and apples, frozen mixed vegetables, canned fruits and vegetables, butter and coffee. Daypacks, sleeping bags and winter coats will also be accepted and given out to the homeless. For more information, call the Salvation Army William Booth Center at (206) 621-0145.

URS

Alan B. Carpenter has joined URS Consultants, Inc., as manager of air quality services. He specializes in developing permitting strategies for siting and operating power and industrial plants. Recent clients have included major forest products companies, power developers and the Department of Energy. He was instrumental in completing permits for operating power plants in Anacortes and Bellingham. Scott M. Greenburg has been named site acquisition manager for the northwest region of URS Telecommunications, Inc. A certified planner, Greenburg has been involved in cell site permitting in the Puget Sound area and has served as senior planner in the Seattle office of URS since 1993. URS Telecommunications, Inc. is a new division of URS Consultants, Inc., and will offer planning and architectural services as well as civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering services for new communication sites. Connie Lewis, former community and customer relations manager with Community Transit in Snohomish County, has joined URS as senior community relations planner. Lewis has 20 years of management experience in media and community relations in the multinational oil industry, utilities, and public transportation. She holds numerous national and local awards for her transit communications programs. Lewis is now assisting the Navy with public outreach in connection with Superfund sites throughout the Northwest.

AHBL

Dave Johnson has joined the structural engineering department of AHBL in Tacoma as a senior project manager. He has 14 years of design experience in retrofit, seismic evaluation and historic renovation. He is currently working on a condition study of Paradise Inn at Mount Rainier. Andrew Herrick has joined the structural engineering department as a design engineer. He specializes in timber frame structures, and is currently working on the Puyallup High School and the St. Charles Library addition.

BERGER/ABAM

Bob Harn has been promoted to project engineer at BERGER/ABAM. Harn, who has been with the firm since 1981, has been concentrating his efforts on the seismic analysis, upgrade, repair and new design of buildings and waterfront facilities.

Otak

Otak has added three new staff members to its Kirkland office. Nico Vanderhorst has joined the firm as a project manager, and is at work on the 12th Avenue NE Improvement project for the City of Kirkland. He was previously with Stack, Chambers and Porter. Michelle Whitfield has joined Otak as a landscape designer, and is working on the West Lake Sammamish Parkway Design Study for the City of Bellevue and a trail corridor design in Federal Way. She was previously employed by the University of Washington and King County Surface Water Management. Jeff Frye has joined the firm as CAD technician, and is working on two large private development projects and a corridor plan for Pierce County. He was previously with Alpha Engineering.
