PC Pros

David Witzke has been named sales manager for Tacoma company PC Pro's 'MORE HITS' forensic product line, a digital imaging system for capturing latent prints, documenting evidence and enhancing surveillance images in the laboratory or at the crime scene. Before joining PC Pros, Witzke was the automated fingerprint identification system trainer for North American Morpho Systems Inc.

Everett Area Chamber of Commerce

Bob Drewel, Snohomish County executive since 1992, has been selected as the Everett Area Chamber of Commerce 1995 Henry M. Jackson Citizen of the Year. Skotdal Enterprises owner Art Skotdal was recognized as the 1995 Corporate Business Executive of the Year, and Kathy DeTuerk, owner of Sunrise Travel Center, is the Small Business Executive of the Year. Drewel co-chairs the Economic Investment Plan for Snohomish County, and has been instrumental in efforts to locate a degree-granting, four-year college within the county. He serves on boards of the Economic Development Council, Regional Transit Authority, YMCA, Puget Sound Regional Council, Communities in Schools and Team Snohomish; chairs the county Needs Assessment Project; and co-chairs the SnoNet "Connected Communities" board that has developed a community-wide computer network to digitally link county schools, businesses, government, citizens and organizations. Skotdal has played a major role in downtown Everett revitalization efforts, upgrading and modernizing numerous downtown buildings and recruiting new tenants. He is a founding director of Frontier Bank, and purchased and rebuilt AM radio station KRKO into a successful operation. DeTuerk has been responsible for the growth of Sunrise Travel Center since it opened in 1977, and taught the first career-development class in the Seattle area for the Institute of Certified Travel Agents. DeTuerk has been active on the Chamber board of directors, serving as vice chair of the area business division, and is currently president of the Rotary Club of Everett. Also, Everett Mayor Ed Hansen has been chosen to receive the 1995 Service to Business award for his contributions to the economic development of the Everett area. Awards will be presented at the EACC Annual Membership and Recognition Dinner on Jan. 25 at the Everett Yacht Club.

King County

Deputy King County Executive Charlie Earl is retiring at the end of January to run a management consulting business. Earl said his longtime dream has been to help local government, state agencies, and private firms with strategic organizational planning. Earl was named to the $97,000-a-year post in 1994 by County Executive Gary Locke to help the transition in the merger of King County and Metro, the county bus and sewer agency. He also helped write the county's growth management act and worked on strategies for improving police service in suburban cities. Locke said he will immediately begin the search for Earl's replacement.

Northwest Cable Advertising

Northwest Cable Advertising has hired Chris Dasef as a retail sales representative at the Snohomish County office in Everett. A recent graduate of Western Washington University, Dasef was previously a sales representative for TCI Advertising Sales in Bellingham.

F-1 Consultants

Jack A. Marshall has started a fire protection consulting business serving building owners, architects, attorneys and the construction industry in Washington, Oregon, California, Montana and Alaska. Located in Bellevue, F-1 Consultants Inc. provides evaluation, design and investigation of fire risks, and investigation of losses due to suspected fire system failures.

Women in Communications

The Seattle Chapter of Women in Communications Inc. has published an updated version of its publicity handbook, titled How To Get the Media Attention You Deserve. The 57-page primer contains articles on writing news releases for print and broadcast, submitting photos, establishing contacts and using the Internet. Also included is a state-wide list of media addresses suitable for photocopying. Books are available for $25 by sending a check to WICI, 217 Ninth Ave. N., Seattle, WA 98109.

Western Washington Bancorp

Western Washington Bancorp, parent company of Washington State Bank, has opened a financial services subsidiary, WWB Financial Services Inc., and named company Vice President Debbie Long to lead the operation. WWB Financial Services is located within the bank's branch office in Federal Way and offers investment options including self-directed IRA's, mutual funds and annuities.

Holaday-Parks

Holaday-Parks Inc. has promoted Tom Helm to director of business development. Helm will serve as a liaison between the various divisions with the company. He was previously senior sales and project manager on Holaday-Parks' biotech design team.

MBA

The new president of the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties for 1996 is John Cochenour, president of Lexington Fine Homes. Cochenour's agenda for the new year will include addressing affordability of homes in both King and Snohomish counties. In the past, he has served on the board of directors for the Building Industry Association of Washington and the National Association of Home Builders. Other officers elected include: Zakir Parpia of Himalaya Homes Inc., first vice-president; Jack Tenhulzen of Tenhulzen Remodeling Inc., second vice-president; and Pat McBride of GMS Architectural Group, secretary.

Cascade Cabinet

Bill Weaver has been named vice president of sales and marketing at Cascade Cabinet Corp. in Woodinville. Weaver has over 20 years of experience in the cabinet industry, most recently as vice president of sales and marketing with DeWils Industries of Vancouver. His responsibilities at Cascade cover all sales, marketing and customer service functions, including the company's sales force and dealers in the 13 western states.

BIAW

The 1996 leadership of the Building Industry Association of Washington was elected and installed Dec. 1 at the association's fall 1995 board of directors' meeting in Lynnwood. The new officers for 1996 include: Ken Donohue of Olympia, president; Rob Stewart of Bellevue, first vice-president; Diane Pospisil of Bellevue, second vice-president; Jerry Sturgill of Yakima, treasurer; and John Mattson of Pasco, secretary.

Sclater Kimball

Daniel P. Meyers has been named vice president of Sclater Kimball Architects. Meyers has been a project manager and staff architect with the firm since 1990 and previously worked with Langdon Wilson Architects in Newport Beach, Calif. Craig Kasman has joined the staff as an architect and project manager. Kasman previously worked with Thistlewaite Architectural Group in San Francisco and Sclater Kimball's predecessor firm, Kober Sclater Architects and Planners.

KPFF

Robert J. Grummel has been selected by the KPFF Consulting Engineers board of directors to become an owner in firm. The engineering company employs 270 persons in seven offices in the Western U.S. and in Cairo, Egypt. Grummel joined the firm in 1985, providing structural engineering services, and has now been managing the 33-person civil division in KPFF's Portland office for three years. Eric L. Ward has joined the civil engineering division of KPFF's Portland office as a project manager. Prior to joining the firm, Ward worked for several consulting engineering firms in California. Loran K. Anderson has also joined KPFF's Portland office as a civil engineering project manager. He will be primarily responsible for managing water and wastewater work there.

Sparling

Valerie K. Williams has joined Sparling as director of client services. Her responsibilities include client relations, business development and communications programs. She has worked with architecture and engineering firms both in Seattle and Minnesota over the past 14 years.
