Piper Jaffray Companies has appointed Ross Rogers as managing director and director of Individual Investor Services, a business unit of Piper Jaffray Inc., the company's broker/dealer subsidiary. Rogers will be responsible for 78 retail sales offices in 17 states, including Washington. Prior to joining Piper Jaffray in 1995, Rogers was executive vice president and divisional director for Smith Barney in Seattle.
Watson Blair has been named co-chair of the Trusts and Estates and Personal Planning Practice at the law firm of Bogle & Gates. He joins Irwin Treiger in overseeing the firm's growing practice group. The group concentrates its practice in estate planning, probate and trust administration, trust and estate litigation, individual retirement distribution planning, and succession of family businesses.
The Museum of History and Industry has elected the following people to its Board of Trustees: Vinson Cole, Seattle Opera tenor; Beverly Freeman, The Citicorp Private Bank; Christian Fulgham, Midori, Inc.; Blanca Harrison, Seattle Pacific Realty, Inc.; Carol James, community volunteer; Richard James, The Boeing Company; and Jay McCarthy, Cascade Hydro-Air. Brent Reys, from Seafirst Bank, will serve as a Board of Trustees intern.
The Neighborhood House, a non-profit human service agency, is seeking volunteers for its 1996 Giving Tree program. Each year the Neighborhood House Giving Tree collects approximately 9,000 donated gifts from more than 150 area businesses and work sites, and distributes them to low-income children and seniors throughout Seattle/King County. U.S. Bank has named Stan Lance and Jim Putnam as vice presidents and trade finance officers in its International Banking Division. Lance and Putnam will assist international customers with financing of foreign receivables and inventory located offshore or in transit; and work with foreign companies to facilitate their distribution and investment activities within the United States. The division has offices in Seattle, Tacoma, Portland, Sacramento, Boise and Salt Lake City.
EvansGroup Public Relations has launched a sports division. The new division, which will be based in Salt Lake City, is highlighted by a major assignment for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. Jeff Hansen has been named director and will be leading the agency's effort of behalf of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.
Skip Stocks has been named director of information services for Van Waters & Rogers' structural pest control supply business, Professional Products & Services. As director, Stocks will lead the team responsible for the development and maintenance of PP&S's homepage. Van Waters & Rogers Inc. distributes chemicals and allied products to the pest control industry. The offices are located in Kirkland.

The Arcand Company has promoted Scott Hubbard to vice president of finance and Tracy Kennedy to controller. Hubbard will oversee financial and tax reporting, portfolio structuring, investor relations and information systems management functions. Kennedy will manage the finance and tax functions for the company. The Arcand Company is a full-service real estate investment firm specializing in Federal Low Income Housing Tax Credit programs. The company's headquarters are in Portland.
Geoff Pendergast has been hired by CB Commercial Real Estate Group as a sales assistant in the leasing of industrial properties. He will focus on the Kent Valley market. Pendergast was previously the president of GGP Food Sales Company. He will be located in Tukwila.
The Schuster Group, Inc. has acquired the Woodgate Shopping Center located in Woodinville. The shopping center consists of approximately 55,000 square feet of retail and commercial space and is located at 13300 NE 175th Street. Mark Schuster is president of The Schuster Group and the manager of Woodgate Associates, LLC., a group of investors that acquired the property. The Schuster Group is a privately-held property management and acquisition firm.
Norris, Beggs & Simpson's Bellevue Property Management Department has received several awards from the Institute of Real Estate Management's (IREM) Western Washington Chapter #27 for 1995. The awards include Accredited Management Organization (AMO) of the Year, Catherine Munson as Certified Property Manager (CPM) of the Year and Maija Mueller as CPM Candidate of the Year. IREM is a professional association affiliated with the National Association of Realtors.
Windermere Real Estate has added six sales associates. Heather Eul joins the Redmond office. Curtis Schuster, Gina Mazzaferro and Timothy Cassill have all joined Windermere-Bellevue Commons. Joan Morioka will be working at Windermere-Northwest, and Kent Treen has joined Windermere's Federal Way office.
