Rouche Laboratories

Dean Slack has joined Rouche Laboratories as director of market intelligence. Slack previously worked for Galxo/Galxo Wellcome where he held a variety of market research and new product assessment positions.

The Tracon Group

The Tracon Group has added a new financial consulting division to its corporate consulting business, and has hired Pam Baker to oversee the division. The new division will provide consulting on financial systems, offer individual coaching in all areas of finance, and deliver customized training on financial management for non-financial managers. Located in Kent, Tracon works with organizations to discover ways to improve people, processes and profits.

Tyee Asset Strategies

Kaycee Krysty, CPA/PFS, CFP has been named as one of the "Best 200 Financial Advisers" in the U.S. by Worth magazine. Krysty is principal and co-founder of Tyee Asset Strategies, Inc. of Seattle.

Chicken Soup Brigade

Wells Fargo Bank has donated surplus kitchen and office equipment to the Chicken Soup Brigade's clients and staff. After the consolidation of several bank offices, Wells Fargo had extra desks and file cabinets, as well as kitchen supplies after the closure of a building cafeteria. The Chicken Soup Brigade offer support services to people living with AIDS in King County.

Medina Children's Services

Jacquelyn Leone-Pleasant has joined Medina Children's Services as administrative director. She will be managing the finance, systems, and human resource activities for the center which is celebrating its 75th anniversary of providing child welfare services in the Puget Sound region.

Dain Bosworth

Dain Bosworth, Seattle, has promoted Allen Stover to senior vice president/investment officer from first vice president/investment officer.

Mirage Boats

Mirage Holdings, Inc., manufacturers of Mirage and Viking fishing boats, has been acquired by a group of local investors and will operate under the name of Mirage Manufacturing, LLC. The new investment group, headed by Brian Bogen and Bruce Kirschner, has hired Duff McDaniel and Vic Duppenthaler to oversee the operations and development of the new company. Mirage Manufacturing, LLC. is located in Arlington.

Berger

Marv Byington recently joined Berger/ABAM as the company's Portland, Oregon, branch manager. He served for 22 years as project manager, construction manager, and project engineer for the Port of Portland, Oregon, during which time he worked with Berger/ABAM staff on various waterfront and marine projects. Just prior to joining the company, Byington returned from a year-long assignment as construction supervision consultant for the new Seoul International Airport in Inchon, Korea. Berger has recently promoted several employees. Jim Zusy was promoted to Grade VIII senior project manager; Bill Allen to Grade VII project manager; Sue Johnson, Chuck Spry, and Joe Stockwell to Grade VII project engineers; Kare Hjorteset and Lee Marsh to Grade V project engineers; Janice Zahn to Grade VI senior engineer, and Michelle Tragesser to Grade III engineer.

HDR

Gerald Leathley has joined HDR Engineering, Inc. as a project controller in the company's Seattle office. Leathley will be working on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad Stampede Pass project. Prior to joining HDR he held a full-time position with the Washington State Department of Transportation.

CNA

Steven Reed has joined CNA Architecture Group of Kirkland as senior design architect. He was previously employed at Callison Architecture of Seattle. Reed specializes in the design of retail and commercial mixed-use facilities. His current projects at CNA include a 120,000 square-foot class A office facility for Proctor & Associates in Redmond, and various West Coast projects for Security Capital Industrial Trust. Reed's past clients include Nordstrom, Minami Aoyama of Tokyo, Japan, and Washington Mutual Bank.

Olympic

Chris Edwards has joined Olympic Associates' construction management services division. Some project experience includes: San Francisco International Airport, Ala Moana Shopping Center and Anaheim Sports Stadium. Areas of expertise include: construction management, scheduling, cost estimating, partnering and value engineering. Maile Furshpan joins Olympic as an administrative coordinator. She has over 25 years experience in office management and accounting procedures. Keith Omori brings over 15 years experience as project engineer, superintendent and special projects coordinator. He is particularly experienced with design/build construction of trophy properties exclusively appointed to fit and individual owner's personal tastes and requirements. Saleem Raza joins the staff as project engineer with 9 years experience in civil and structural design. Raza has excellent experience working with transportation-related projects and provides scheduling, cost estimating and quality control services. John Rumsey brings to Olympic over 25 years experience as contractor quality control and field operations manager. Rumsey started his construction career with his father's construction company more than 30 years ago. He was president and owner when the company built the Alaskan Way Viaduct and Battery Street Tunnel. Recent projects include a $60 million Medical Facility Improvement and a $130 million Mall Redevelopment. Areas of expertise include: connstruction management, scheduling, cost estimating, partnering and value engineering. James Thompson joins Olympic with over 10 years construction experience. He has 4 years experience with the Corps of Engineers and 6 years experience in private industry as project engineer, project manager, operations manager and superintendent. Jim provides construction planning, design and cost estimating.

Entranco

Brad Stein has joined Entranco as a senior transportation engineer and manager of the firm's structural engineering unit. Stein's experience includes serving as a project manager for Union Hill Bridge replacement project in Redmond. Stein also worked as project manager for roadway and structural design, right-of-way acquisition, signalizing, and environmental issues for an interchange along I-82 in Yakima. Four bridges were designed for this project, which provided a gateway to downtown Yakima from I-82. Prior to joining Entranco, Stein was with CH2M Hill's Bellevue office, where he was employed for the past 17 years. At Entranco he is at work on the Allen Street Bridge replacement project for the City of Kelso, and King County's Cedar Mountain bridge and ramp bridge replacement project.

EDAW

Jill Brown Sterrett has been named director of Seattle operations for EDAW, Inc. and has been promoted to principal of the firm. She has over fifteen years of experience specializing in environmental analysis, urban design, historic preservation, site-specific master planning, and comprehensive planning. Current project under Jill's direction include the preparation of design guidelines for Seattle's Sand Point/Magnuson Park development; historical and archaeological resource protection plans for Navy facilities at Keyport, Manchester, and Whidbey Island; the Cultural Resource Study component for relicensing of the Pelton Round Butte hydroelectric project in Oregon; and the comprehensive plan for the City of Woodinville.

Bush, Roed & Hitchings

Bill Hickey has joined Bush, Roed & Hitchings, Inc. as project engineer. Hickey, a 1990 civil engineering graduate of Washington State University has transportation, site development and drainage design experience. He is a registered civil engineer in the state of Washington. Current assignments include Boston Market in Puyallup, Walgreens Drug Store in Kirkland, Red Robin in Des Moines and Taco Bell in Federal Way.

W & H Pacific

Veniece Lindemulder has joined W & H Pacific's Bellevue office as production technician. Her responsibilities include graphic design, technical editing, word processing, and database management.

Yanick

Miles Yanick, principal of the Bainbridge Island architecture and planning firm Miles Yanick and Company, has been appointed to the Boundary Review Board for Kitsap County. Yanick brings a lifelong study of ecology and nearly 30 years experience in land planning and zoning matters to the Board. His term extends through January, 1999. The Boundary Review Board meets monthly to review applications for revision of the boundaries of incorporated cities and Special Districts, such as those administering fire, water and sewer for the public.
