Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt

The Seattle law firm of Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt has elected Richard Hansen and Elizabeth Reeve to the firm's board of directors. Hansen, a shareholder in the Portland office, focuses his practice on product liability, complex commercial, and general liability litigation. Reeve, a shareholder in the Seattle office, focuses her practice on representation of employers in both Washington and Oregon.

Foster Pepper & Shefelman

Brian Buckley and Garrett Krueger have joined the Seattle law firm of Foster Pepper & Shefelman as associates. Buckley will concentrate his practice in litigation and creditors' rights and bankruptcy. Krueger will focus on insurance litigation and business law.

Holland America Line-Westours Inc.

Seattle-based Holland America Line-Westours Inc. announced that its 1996 Alaska cruisetour season set the company's ninth consecutive record for number of passengers carried. A. Kirk Lanterman, president and CEO, said the company's achievement of another record season was made in the face of continuing heavy competition in the Alaska marketplace -- now the third largest and one of the fastest growing cruise markets in the world. Cruise capacity in Alaska has nearly doubled since 1990. The number of cruise companies serving Alaska has grown from 10 lines with 20 ships and 16,222 berths in 1990 to 12 lines with 29 ships and 31,202 berths scheduled for 1997.

Sinclair Technologies, Inc.

Sinclair Technologies, Inc., a multinational corporation specializing in the design, engineering and distribution of antenna systems, filters and multicoupling systems, has opened its Northwest regional office in Bellevue. David Schaan will act as the Pacific Northwest regional manager. Sinclair has offices located in the U.S., the United Kingdom and Canada.

Greenbrier Logistics

Greenbrier Logistics, a subsidiary of the Greenbrier Companies, has announced its senior management team, following the company's acquisition of Interamerican Logisitics, Tolan O'Neal Transportation and Logistics (TOT&L) and Superior Transportation Systems by the Greenbrier Companies. A. Daniel O'Neal, formerly of TOT&L, has been named chairman, J. Michael McElhone, previously of Interamerican Logistics, will be the president and chief operating officer, and Christopher Marsh, of Superior Transportation Systems, will act as senior vice president of marketing and sales. Three regional client service centers have been established as a result of the acquisition. Each center will be responsible for client contact and service, operations and regional sales. Brad Jordan has been named general manager of the client service center in Portland, David O'Neal of the Seattle center, and D. Craig Fowler will act as general manager for the Canadian operation located in Toronto. Greenbrier Logistics is a full service logistics company offering management, transportation, warehousing and distribution for companies throughout North America. The Greenbrier Companies are headquartered in Lake Oswego, Oregon.

The Fortune Group

Christie Nevetral has been named marketing director for The Fortune Group, a group of companies specializing in development and construction of apartments, condominiums and mixed-use residential/commercial projects throughout the Puget Sound region. Nevetral has been with The Fortune Group since 1990.

Cain and Scott

Cain and Scott has added F. Angelo Albertini to its consulting department. Albertini will specialize in the appraisal of apartments, condominiums and attached housing developments. He brings over 25 years of experience in appraisal, evaluation and feasibility studies in the Puget Sound Region.

Lynnwood Mortgage

Donn Costa has been named president of Lynnwood Mortgage Corporation by its founder, Charles Ainslie. Costa, senior vice president and branch manager of the Mountlake Terrace office for the past two years, has over 10 years experience in the mortgage banking business. Prior to joining LMC, Costa spent seven years at Phoenix Mortgage and Investment as a top producing loan officer. Costa will be responsible for expanding the residential mortgage division as well as overseeing the activities at the seven branch offices. Ainslie, chairman and CEO, will oversee activities in the seven branch offices.

ReMax Masters

Steve Tarabochia, vice president/designated broker of RE/MAX Masters in Everett, announced that James Teno and Gary Buhr have joined the office as associate brokers. The following have joined the office as sales associates: Sid Roberts, Curt Williamson, Karen Schweinfurth, Marlene Lindstrand and Sid Tracy.

Windermere

Windermere Real Estate has announced the addition of three sales associates. Anne Bascom joins the Kirkland office after working with John L. Scott since 1994. Joining the Northeast office is Mary Berg, who has one year of real estate experience with Best NW Realty. Mike Laughin becomes Windermere-Northwest's newest associate. Windermere Real Estate opened a new office in North Tacoma with 22 agents. Windermere/Paragon Co. owners Wally Starkey and Ron Lunceford made the announcement. The new office is Windermere/Paragon's third office. It is located in the Westgate Shopping Center in North Tacoma. Dick Beeson is manager.

Realtor awards

Christa Sasser, broker/owner of the Kennewick real estate firm, Distinctive Properties, received the Washington Association of Realtors' annual Realtors Achievement Award at the recent statewide assembly in Spokane. Port Angeles Realtor Linda DeBord received the Realtors Community Service Award.

Nationally recognized speaker and entrepreneur Barry Powell will speak at the Shoreline Unitarian Church, 14724 First Ave. N.E., Seattle, for the ASPIRE non-profit organization. Powell has purchased thousands of properties in Houston and specializes in finding deeply discounted real estate with motivated sellers. He teaches people how to use their IRAs to buy real estate, discusses 1031 exchanges and simultaneous closings.
