WestCoast Hotels

The Seattle-based hotel management company, WestCoast Hotels, has promoted Roger Clute to vice president of sales. Clute will coordinate WestCoast's 43 sales staff. With the recent addition of Oregon's Valley River Inn, WestCoast Hotels now manages 26 hotel properties, with over 4,600 hotel rooms.

Ultima Travel Systems

Dell Schooley has been named director of product development at Ultima Travel Systems, a Bothell-based membership travel organization. Schooley will be responsible for negotiating travel related arrangements and contracts with hotels, airlines, cruiseships and other travel entities. Schooley also will be managing director of Ultima Vacations, a property management company based in Chelan. He will oversee development, management, operations and support service contracts for resort destinations and small inns in the Northwest.

Morrissette & Associates

Trent Lougheed has joined the staff of Jerome W. Morrissette & Associates as a project engineer. Morrissette & Associates is a civil, municipal and geotechnical engineering firm located in West Olympia.

Richmond Public Relations is now representing Gray Line of Alaska and Gray Line of Seattle, both subsidiaries of Holland Line-Westours Inc.

Millennium, Inc.

Brad Chalker has chosen to resign as vice president of Millennium, Inc. and will go to work full time for Millennium Software, Inc. Until a replacement for is found, Kent Marsh will assume all of Chalker's responsibilities.

Advanced Marine Technology

Seattle-based Advanced Marine Technology (AMT), a manufacturer and pioneer of computer-based marine electronics, has hired Diana Higgs as a marketing and sales specialist, and Scott Williams as a national sales manager. Higgs will be responsible for corporate-wide marketing communications and will assist with new product introductions and marketing AMT's expanding product lines. Williams will be responsible for sales growth both domestically and internationally. He also will be introducing products as AMT diversifies its product line in 1997.

Small Business Task Force

Mayor Norm B. Rice is seeking applicants for membership on the Mayor's Small Business Task Force. The 20-member board acts in an advisory capacity to the Mayor, and is responsible for making recommendations, reviewing public policy, and strengthening and promoting small businesses. To apply for membership applicants must: be an owner of a small business (100 employees or less and gross earnings of $5 millions/year or less); have demonstrated interest and leadership in small business issues; be willing to commit to two monthly meetings and reside within the City of Seattle. The term of office is two years and members serve without compensation. Kopczynski

Mark Aden and Kevin Wilger have been promoted to the position of principal with Cary Kopczynski & Company of Bellevue. Aden, who joined the firm six years ago, managed the structural design of the 25-story Palladian World Tower in Glendale, Calif., the Chinook Winds Gaming and convention center in Lincoln City, Ore., and the renovations and expansion of the Bellevue Square Shopping Center. Wilger has been with the firm for 10 years and assisted in the design of the Seafirst Tower of Bellevue Place, the 27-story One Pacific Towers in Seattle, the 25-story Bellevue Pacific Center and the Rose Garden parking structures in Portland. He is currently responsible for the 18-story Boise WestCoast Hotel, including the attached convention center.

Interface

Todd Foley, an engineer-in-training, has joined Interface Engineering as an electrical designer, with project experience that includes the Point Defiance Zoo Dinamation Exhibit and several buildings at the University of Washington. Scott Dailidenas, a graduate of ITT, has also joined the firm. Kelli Hill has joined the firm as a mechanical drafter. Her recent experience includes projects for Intel and Los Alamos National Laboratories. All three new employees are at work on the Gates estate in Medina.

Holaday-Parks

David L. Parks, executive vice president of Holaday-Parks, Inc., has assumed full responsibility for the company's Seattle area sales and engineering. Paul Talbot, who held the position of vice president for the design/build division for the past 10 years, is retiring from the post, but will continue with the company as senior account executive. June Nailon has been promoted to operations manager at Holaday-Parks. Nailon spearheaded the company's successful ISO 9001 registration and is also in charge of risk management, safety and quality.

Lyon

Elizabeth Rivers, landscape architect, recently joined the firm of Marty A. Lyon, Landscape Architect, in Tacoma. She has over 12 years of experience in project design, community interaction, development feasibility assessment and land planning.

Landscape architects honored

J. Douglas Macy of Walker & Macy and Carol Mayer-Reed of Mayer/Reed in Portland have been inducted as Fellows of the American Society of Landscape Architects. Macy, a founding partner in Walker & Macy, was recognized for his work on Portland's Pioneer Courthouse Square, the Vietnam Veterans of Region Memorial and the revitalization of the South and North Park Blocks. Mayer-Reed is known for multi-disciplinary teams and for her design work on the Portland Place Memorial, the Museum at Warm Sprigs, the Tropical Africa Exhibit and the Hewlett-Packard Vancouver executive courtyard.

Door to Door

Door to Door Storage, a Seattle-based company offering container delivery self-storage, has doubled its storage space in the Puget Sound area and opened its first storage center outside the region, in Orange County, Calif. The California center is one of several planned for opening this year in the Los Angeles area and other western states. Company president and founder Tim Riley said a national marketing plan is under development. The new Puget Sound center will be located in Kent, several blocks south of the current Southcenter location. Four new executives have also been announced: Mark Gallant, former VP of sales and marketing for White Lightning Products, is national director of sales and marketing; Patrick Goodwin, CFO at Briazz, is chief financial officer; David Pingree is team leader of California operations and Dan Swallow, formerly a broker and consultant with Heartland Real Estate Group, is manager of real estate.

Paccar

Richard P. Fox will join Paccar as senior vice president starting March 1. He is a 28-year veteran of Ernst & Young. He will be in charge of Paccar's controller department, treasury and management information systems. Fox was managing partner of the accounting firm's Seattle office.

Gordon Thomas

C. James Frush and Bradley Davis have joined the law firm of Gordon, Thomas, Honeywell, Malanca, Peterson & Daheim. Frush focuses on white-collar criminal and business litigation matters. He served as a federal prosecutor for over five years. Davis' practice has been in insurance defense and coverage, particularly environmental litigation, product liability defense, employment discrimination and wrongful termination litigation.

Phone Mart

GTE has opened a new Phone Mart store in Bellevue Square. The store offers telecommunications products including home office products, Internet access, pagers, cordless phones and answering machines. GTE customers can pay their bills in the store and order new network services. This is the first Phone Mart located outside of GTE's traditional operating territory, according to Patrick Buono, GTE regional manager-retail. "Telecommunications markets are rapidly changing and we are positioning ourselves for growth."

Stevenson Slavin

Stevenson Slavin Advertising and Public Relations recently hired three new employees: Kelly O'Leary, Denise Cugini and Amy Knowlton. O'Leary was with Pacific Rim Resources and Cugini was formerly marketing director for Incredible Universe. Knowlton is also a student at Seattle Central Community College.
