Regence Blus Shield

Regence Blue Shield recently promoted Matt Sikes from controller to vice president of finance and chief financial officer. Sikes formerly worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida. Regence Blue Shield, created in 1997 through the merger of King County Medical Blue Shield and Pierce County Medical Bureua, is Washington's leading haelth plan.

The Seattle Fishermen's Memorial Committee

The Seattle Fisherman's Memorial Committee has accepted a donation in the amount of $32,380.11, representing unclaimed funds received in the settlement of class action lawsuits filed on behalf of area fishermen. The class action lawsuits date back to 1993, and involve the crews of the factory trawlers Browns Point, Resolute, and Highland Light. Helsell Fetterman, the Seattle law firm that represented the plaintiffs in the four cases, obtained court orders to have the funds donated.

International Telecom

international Telecom, a discount telecommunications company, has expanded its European network by implementing a high-capacity digital switch in London. The London switch is the first step in International Telecom's move to provide more economical services throughout the region. The London switch, a Northern Telecom DMS 250, will allow the company to originate and terminate traffic remotely, allowing significant cost reductions. International Telecom serves 160,000 customers in 225 countries. Primary services include Kallback, a call re-origination service, and Faxaway, an email-to-fax broadcast fax service.

Nth Dimension Corporation

Paul Kowalski has joined Nth Dimension Corporation, a Bellevue-based online publisher of customer information services, as vice president of finance. Kowalski's responsibilities will include overseeing administrative and financial operations, strategic business analysis and planning and investor relations. Kowalski formerly served as chief financial officer for Orca Medical Systems, a developer of emergency room information systems. Nth Dimension Corporation publishes SharpShopper.com, the only online consumer electronics shopping guide to help people research and locate the products that best meet their individual needs.

Children's Hospital

Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle and Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia have announced a new partnership designed to increase the availability of pediatric health care services in Southwest Washington. In February, a pediatric specialty services outpatient clinic, called Children's Olympia, on the St. Peter campus will open. Children's Olympia will be staffed by Children's Hospital physicians and nurses, specialists in pediatric care. The clinic is located at the Providence St. Peter Professional Office Building on the campus, 525 Lilly Road. After January 12, the phone number will be 360-493-5580.

Wosca Transportation Services

Margo Morrison has been appointed vice president, sales and marketing, and Patty Killeen has been appointed vice president of the Eastern region for Seattle-based Wosca Transportation Services Inc. Morrison formerly served as Pacific Northwest customer service manager for the Union Pacific Railroad. Killeen will be responsible for all of Wosca's terminals in Jersey City, Charlotte, Memphis and Chicago. Wosca serves over 2,000 small and large shippers who are partners and customers in the cooperative. Services include less-than-trailerload and full trailerload shipping, air freight service, private consolidations and complete electronic data interchange tracing programs.

CH2M Hill

Stan Moon has joined the staff of CH2M Hill as senior transportation engineer. Most recently, he was the Deputy Secretary for Operation and Chief Engineer at the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT). Tom Mahoney has joined the transportation group at CH2M Hill as a senior bridge engineer. He most recently worked for the Sverdrup Corporation, which he served as a senior project engineer and moveable bridge leader. His 30 year career includes several innovative bridge designs, and his design experience includes the West Seattle Swing Bridge and the West Seattle High Level Bridge.

R.W. Beck

Jim LoSasso is the new director of information systems for R.W. Beck. He came from the Jacobs Engineering Group in Pasadena, Calif, a $1.8 billion company, where he was vice president of information services for more than 10 years. He was on the executive committees of both CIO magazine and Webmaster magazine for two years.

McGranahan

Ko Wibowo has joined the McGranahan Partnership as project designer. He received his undergraduate degree in architecture in Indonesia and his masters degree from Texas A & M. He is currently working on the Hyundai project for the Port of Tacoma. Shawn Simon joined the from as an intern architect with a bachelors degree from Washington State University. His current projects include a multi-classroom addition for Clover Park High School. Karen Richardson is the firm's new administrative manager, and Olivia Olson has joined McGranahan as a receptionist.

HCW-L

Larry Cordes has been promoted to office manager for the Wenatchee office of Hammond Collier & Wade-Livingstone (HCW-L). He has over a decade of experience in water, sanitary sewer and site civil engineering projects, and has been with the firm for seven years. Erik Davido and Tracey Wentz recently earned Washington State professional civil engineering certification. Davido is working on flooding problems with the City of Lake Forest Park, and Wentz is serving as project engineer for a water system plan in Covington. Kris McPhee, and engineer in training, recently joined the firm's Seattle office. McPhee has four years of experience designing sewer system extensions to village in American Samoa.

Integrus

Sandra Doyle and Brian Kenny have joined Integrus Architecture in Seattle as architectural interns. Doyle is a graduate of Cornell University, and Kenny recently graduated from Virginia Tech University. Both are working on the new Truman Middle School for the Tacoma School District.

PTL

Tracy D. Yerian has been named manager of environmental and analytical services at Pacific Testing Laboratories Inc. (PTL). PTL was recently acquired by Professional Service Industries, Inc. (PSI), a nationwide engineering, testing, and analytical services firm with over 3500 employees and 170 offices nationwide. Yerian holds a masters degree in chemistry and a doctorate in philosophy from the University of Washington. Prior to joining PTL, Yerian was quality assurance director for Sound Analytical Services.

Moore

Rebecca R. Moore has joined Moore Engineering Consultants, Inc. as an environmental engineer after completing her masters in environmental engineering degree at the University of Washington. Souheil Nasr has joined the firm as a senior civil engineer. He will be responsible for civil engineering design and project management for utilities, large diameter pipelines, drainage and hydraulic modeling.
