Coastal Atlantic Associates

Coastal Atlantic Associates, an Edmonds-based commercial roofing products firm, has hired Mike Skoglund as senior account executive. Skoglund formerly served as a regional manager for RPM/Haartz-Mason and as director of single-ply roof systems for a local Northwest distributor.

Davis Wright Tremaine

Environmental and land use attorney Gregory W. Forge has joined Davis Wright Tremaine as a partner. Forge was formerly a member of the Gordon, Thomas, Honeywell law firm. Forge currently serves as special counsel to the Washington State Public Stadium Authority. The authority is developing and will own and operate a new football/soccer stadium and exhibition center replacing the Kingdome.

Stoel Rives

David P. Hattery, Laurie A. Smiley and Leslie S. Wallis have been elected partners at Stoel Rives, a Northwest law firm. Hattery joined the firm in 1993 as an associate emphasizing assisting clients with the business of construction and design. Smiley joined the firm in 1996 as an associate advising companies, underwriters, and investors on securities and corporate finance transactions. Wallis joined the firm in 1992 as an associate representing clients in both business and litigation matters.

NeoPath, Inc.

NeoPath, Inc., a Redmond-based creator of visual intelligence technology to increase accuracy in complex medical testing, has initiated a search for a new president. Alan Nelson, current president and CEO, will become chairman of the board. Walter Robb has retired as chairman of the board but will continue to serve as director. Robert Bateman was promoted to vice president and chief financial officer. Bateman will replace William Scott, who will remain a director and serve as senior financial advisor. NeoPath recently obtained FDA approval for the AutoPap Primary Screening System, and is now focusing on emerging applications for core technology beyond cytology.

Alexis Hotel

Howard H. Jacobs has been named general manager at the Alexis Hotel in Seattle. Jacobs formerly served as hotel manager of the Flamingo Hilton in Nevada.

Paccar

Paccar has promoted Thomas E. Plimpton to executive vice president. Paccar is a Bellevue-based manufacturer of heavy-duty trucks.

Regence BlueShield

Donald Storey, M.D., has joined Regence BlueShield as the associate medical director for the company's new managed care plan, RegenceCare. Storey formerly served as senior medical director of Qual-Med Eastern Washington. Regence provides health care coverage to more than 1.1 million subscribers in Washington.

Northwest Bookfest

Northwest Bookfest has received a $17,500 grant from the US West Foundation in support of its fourth annual festival, scheduled for Oct. 24 and 25 at Pier 48 in Seattle. Honorary chairs of the 1998 festival are Seattle Mayor Paul Schell and Mona Lee Locke.
