GeoEngineers

Chris Kassebuam, principal, has joined GeoEngineers' Seattle office. Kassebaum has 25 years of experience in environmental regulatory management. GeoEngineers offers geotechnical, environmental, geologic, and ground water consulting services.

Berger/Abam Engineers Inc.

Darrell Joque has returned to Berger/Abam, a Federal Way project management, planning, civil and structural engineering, environmental studies and construction management firm, as a project manager. Joque left the firm in 1992 to serve as a structural engineer for Parsons Brinkerhoff. Sam Choi has joined Berger/Abam as a computer technician. Choi formerly served as operations manager at DigiCopy 'n Print.

SERA Architects

SERA Architects, a Portland architectural firm, has added Christine Garrick as director of finance and administration; Laura Grover as an interior designer; and Eric Philps, as a full-time employee after completing his internship with the firm. John Eidman is a member of the Yeon Building Addition project team for Multnomah County. Sheri Lynne Gunnari has been promoted to accountant.

Reid Middleton

Reid Middleton, a civil and structural planning and engineering firm, has moved its headquarters to Everett. The firm has added Ketil Freeman in the planning group; Paul Wells in the civil projects group; Wade Damey in the waterfront and structural engineering group; Jouni Paavola in the survey group as survey party chief; and Kelly Howell and Cindy Love in the technical support group.

NBBJ

The Seattle office of NBBJ, an architectural firm, has appointed Patrick C. Mays as chief information officer. Mays joins the firm as a principal and will oversee the firm's technological development. David Brueggeman has been appointed senior technical design architect. Brueggeman will be a senior leader for specific jobs and is currently working on a Microsoft project.

Hart Crowser Inc.

Hart Crowser Inc., a Seattle-based environmental and engineering consulting firm, has promoted Bruce Ream to associate environmental specialist in the Anchorage office. Ream currently serves as project manager for the Anchorage International Airport hazardous Building Materials Management Project.

Lane Powell Spears Lubersky

Veronica A. Freitas has joined Northwest law firm Lane Powell Spears Lubersky LLP as an associate attorney practicing estate planning and tax law. Lane Powell Spears Lubersky has offices along the West Coast from Anchorage to Los Angeles, and another in London.

Davis Wright Tremaine

Attorney Lisa Erin Kirk has joined Davis Wright Tremaine as an associate in the employment and health law departments. Formerly with the Reed McClure law firm, Kirk has experience in business and corporate law and litigation.

Western Washington University

The Western Foundation, the fund-raising arm of Western Washington University, has won a 1998 Circle of Excellence in Educational Fund-Raising Award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. The award recognizes significant program growth during a three-year period. From 1994 to 1997, Western raised $23.6 million in private funds during its first-ever capital campaign. Western was one of only three public comprehensive universities -- out of 515 in the category -- named for outstanding improvement.

Da Vinci Gourmet

Juliette Simmons has been named Oregon territory manager for Da Vinci Gourmet Ltd. She will work in the Portland office, focusing on increasing product availability and identifying new business opportunities. Simmons previously worked at Moonstruck Chocolatier, where she managed two retail stores and supervised sales programs for nine others. Da Vinci is a Seattle-based company that produces 59 traditional and 18 sugar-free gourmet flavored syrups, plus a line of gourmet sauces and chocolate confections. The syrups are used primarily in specialty coffees and sodas.
