Safeco Inc.

Deetsy Armstrong, vice president of information systems and services, has been named chief information officer for Safeco Corp. W. Scott Ables, assistant vice president of claims operations, and Bob Kitchen Jr. were appointed vice presidents for Safeco Insurance Company. Robie Baker, regional claims manager for the company's Southern California region, Randy Farless, manager of field marketing operations, and Troy Olson-Blair, director of Safeco's network systems department, were all appointed assistant vice presidents for Safeco Insurance Company. Linda Mahaffey, assistant vice president for Safeco Securities, Inc. and Safeco Services Corp., was appointed vice president. Sue Ellen Taylor, national sales manager for Safeco Mutual Funds, was appointed assistant vice president of Safeco Securities Inc. and Safeco Asset Management Company. Allyn Close, who recently joined Safeco from Interpacific Investor Services where he was president and CEO, was appointed vice president of Safeco Securities Inc.

Horton Lantz Marocco

Horton Lantz Marocco, a Seattle-based design agency, has added Debra Warren as a production designer. Anna Colton has been added as a receptionist and office coordinator.

Bader Martin Ross & Smith

Bader Martin Ross & Smith, a Seattle-based accounting and consulting firm, has promoted Linda Kucera to senior manager in the accounting and business advisory services department.

Saint Martin's College

Jacqueline R. Johnson has joined the administration of Saint Martin's College as its vice president for academic affairs. Johnson formerly served as a professor of sociology at Michigan's Grand Valley State University and chair of the university's department of anthropology and sociology.

Experience Music Project

Experience Music Project, the 130,000 sf interactive music museum opening at Seattle Center in 1999, has hired Judy Bunnell to serve as the director of administration. Bunnell was formerly the director of the office of management and planning for the city of Seattle. Patti Payne has been hired as the director of public and community affairs. Payne formerly served as public affairs director and senior correspondent for KIRO Newsradio, and is a columnist for the Eastside Journal newspaper.

The Brighton Group

The Brighton Group, an outplacement and career consulting firm based in Bellevue, has been selected to become a partner in Outplacement International, a career consulting partnership. Brighton now has access to the resources of 80 United States and 104 international offices.

Port of Olympia

Bruce Marshall is returning to the Port of Olympia as manager of the Swantown Boatworks project and Swantown Marina. Marshall served as the port's harbormaster five years ago, and has since served as director of marine operations for a marine facility in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and founded his own consulting company, Marshall and Associates.

Signature Media Services Inc.

Roger Stanton, Sr., a former senior manager at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, has been appointed to vice president of operations and resource management of Signature Media Services Inc. Sheila Parker Stone has been added to the firm's creative development staff. Stone will lead video production efforts. Signature Media Services Inc. is a Tacoma-based communications and marketing firm.
