CDCom, a Federal Way-based provider of alternatives to traditional methods of storing, retrieving and distributing information, has appointed Paul M. Pinard president and CEO. Pinard formerly served as director of sales operations and general manager at AT&T Wireless and AT&T. CDCom uses compact disc technology to shift records management from microfilm and microfiche.
Maria Goldberg has been named senior sales manager for Seattle's Kimpton Hotels -- The Alexis Hotel, Hotel Monaco and Hotel Vintage Park. Goldberg formerly served as sales manager at Salish Lodge & Spa.
Maynard Willms, vice president of the Crowley Maritime Corp.'s subsidiary Vessel Management Services, was recently awarded the Thomas Crowley Trophy, an annual honor named for the company founder. Willms was selected for his outstanding work in developing vessels in the fleet. Vessel Management Services is based in Seattle.
John Hills and Jacqueline S. Wilsey were appointed assistant vice presidents and assistant controllers for Safeco Corp. Richard Chyba was appointed assistant vice president of Safeco's property and casualty insurance companies. Sean Tief, Ross Powell, Bonnie Loss, Sharlene Cooper, Dan Klaras, Robert Mack, Terry Walker and Mark Simonetto were appointed assistant vice presidents for Safeco Life Insurance Co. Thomas E. Eylander and Scott B. Heald were appointed vice presidents for Safeco Credit Co. Brian E. McGarry was appointed assistant vice president for Safeco Credit Co. Monica Norfolk was appointed assistant vice president for Safeco Services Corp.
Dwight E. Utz has joined the Boise office of W&H Pacific. He is a structural engineer specializing in bridge and retaining wall design. He previously worked for the Arizona Department of Transportation, the California Department of Transportation, and Imbsen & Associates of Sacramento. Todd Meyer recently joined the Metro-Seattle office as a planner and landscape architect. Meyer recently spent two years with the firm's Portland office. His current projects include Arrowleaf Resort near Mazama; Redmond Ridge, a master-planned community near Redmond; and Cougar Mountain, a multi-family, attached residential project in Issaquah.
Perteet Engineering has announced the addition of three new partners in the firm. Joel Birchman, municipal services manager, joined the firm two years ago with over 22 years of public and private sector civil engineering experience. Crystal Donner, transportation design manager, has been with the firm for three years. Rhami Kutsal, senior project manager, has been a project engineer with Perteet for five years. He is a 1986 graduate of Yildiz University in Istanbul, Turkey, and is currently completing his master's degree in construction management at the University of Washington.
Rob Calderaro has joined the landscape architecture department at the Seattle office of Otak. He has over nine years of experience in the industry and was most recently with Hewitt Isley. Judy Gilmore has joined the administrative staff of the Seattle office as receptionist.
Chris Barnes has joined Berger/ABAM Engineers as a construction technician. He was previously a construction inspector with the Washington State Department of Transportation. Lana Do joined the firm as an accounting clerk.
