Diane Michelle Allvin has joined the American Heart Association's Northwest Affiliate as the new director for the northwest Washington region. Her primary task will be to grow the American Heart Walk. Allvin previously worked as the marketing planner and trainer for the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Plan of Hawaii.
Northwest law firm Williams, Kastner & Gibbs has added attorney Michael A. Herbst, of counsel, to its Seattle office. A former member of the now defunct Bogle & Gates firm, Herbst has over 10 years' experience in international commercial transactions, investments and immigration issues.
Steven Sather has been named marketing manager in the Seattle office of TCI Media Services. He is responsible for advertising sales on cable-network sports programming, and will oversee the company's research department and promotions in its Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, Everett and Bellingham offices. Sather previously was vice president of Streetball International of Dallas.
Seattle design firm Hornall Anderson Design Works has added several new employees to its print and online sections. Gretchen Cook and Belinda Bowling are the firm's new designers. Merran Kubalak has been hired as a senior online producer; Roel Nava is the new technical manager of the online department; Ryan Wilkerson is online designer; James Moriarity is interactive programmer; and Whitney Zaring is online producer.
Eric Raman has joined Northwest Hospital's staff as a primary care physician in internal medicine. Raman received his medical degree from the University of Washington in 1995, and completed his residency at the UW Medical Center.
Continental Savings Bank President and CEO Richard S. Swanson has been named to the Fannie Mae National Advisory Council. Among the 18 new members he is the only appointee from the Northwest. Fannie Mae, the nation's largest source of financing for home mortgages, created the council 28 years ago to bring community leaders together with representatives from the financing industry and government.
Opus Northwest has promoted Bart Brynestad to senior real estate director and Mike Ruhl to senior real estate manager. Brynestad now has overall profit responsibility for 12 ongoing projects. Rule's new responsibilities include monitoring feasibility studies for new projects, marketing and leasing, project permits and overall project budgets. The company is developing more than 4 million square feet of office and industrial space in the Puget Sound region. Last month it was announced that John Solberg has been promoted from vice president to president and COO of Opus Northwest. He has not named his replacement. An announcement is expected soon, according to company officials.
Stephen Fina has been promoted to director of marketing for Harbor Resorts, a Harbor Properties subsidiary. He previously was the marketing manager for Harbor Properties and oversaw the marketing of the company's downtown real estate projects. One of Fina's first projects will be overseeing the renovation and sale of Green Gables Lodge at Schweitzer Mountain in Idaho. Scheduled to begin this summer, it is the first project in what is expected to be a seven- to 10-year build out of the resort's base area.
Bellevue-based Qpoint has opened three new offices during the first quarter. Qpoint Vancouver (Wash.) Center and Qpoint 205 Place in Portland are owned by Robert Hogg, who also owns Qpoint Five Star in Lake Oswego, Ore. Joseph Magee, who owns six other Qpoint locations in Washington, opened the third new office: Qpoint Columbia Tech Center in Vancouver. Qpoint now has 23 Northwest locations.
Carino Homes has begun presales at Savannah Oaks, an 88-unit condominium at Northwest Landing in DuPont. Even though the first homes won't be finished until September, the condos already are 30 percent sold. Northwest Landing is a master-planned community by Weyerhaeuser Real Estate Co.
Darren G. Brothers has joined Keller Williams. He will specialize in residential listings in Seattle and surrounding neighborhoods.
