The Bellingham Surgery Center was recently acquired by Nashville, Tenn.-based Ambulatory Resource Centres. Ambulatory Resource Centres develops, acquires and operates ambulatory facilities in partnership with physicians, practice management companies, payers, hospitals and hospital networks.
Ann Simpson was recently appointed to the Girl Scouts Totem Council's nominating committee. Simpson works in marketing at PSG Consulting.
John Anderson recently joined Tacoma's Mountain View Funeral Home as an apprentice funeral director, and Bill Straley and Jeff Whiteside recently joined as funeral directors.
Stan Kantowski was recently named food and beverage director for Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Ore. Kantowski formerly served as food and beverage manager for the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Michael J. Hodgins recently became a principal at Berk & Associates, a Seattle firm specializing in strategic planning, economic analysis and policy development for public and non-profit agencies. William R. Turner, Jr. and Courtney Knox were recently added as associates. Turner also serves as an adjunct professor at the Seattle University School of Business and Economics. Knox formerly served on a construction industry forecast study for the Puget Sound region at the Office of PortJobs.
Thomas Rasmussen has been appointed to serve as director of the Mayor's Office for Senior Citizens in the Seattle's Human Services Department. Rasmussen formerly served as director of programs and operations at Iona Senior Services in Washington, D.C.
Heart Interface, a Kent-based manufacturer of inverter/charger technology, recently named Steve Spitzer vice president of marketing. Spitzer formerly served as director of marketing.
Kerry Nicholson has joined Legacy Partners Residential as senior vice president and now oversees the Bay Area company's operations in the Pacific Northwest. Nicholson has been a visible player in Northwest commercial real estate for 20 years. Most recently, he was vice president/new business for GE Capital Real Estate. He also worked as manager of construction lending for Washington Mutual Bank and held senior management positions at Seafirst/Bank of America. In addition to managing Legacy Residential's portfolio, he will oversee new multifamily development, including several projects under way. Legacy Partners has developed more than 51,000 apartment units and now owns or manages more than 30,000 units throughout the United States. An additional 2,300 units are under construction and 3,300 units are planned for the next two years.
The Fisher Properties Board of Directors has elected R. Scott Herrmann vice president of the Marketing and Leasing Division. He had been director of the division. Herrmann has been in commercial real estate 12 years. Before Fisher, he worked for Nooney Kromback in St. Louis, Mo. In addition to Fisher's existing portfolio of 1.3 million square feet, Fisher Properties is developing Fisher Plaza, a digital connectivity and tele-media center for Fisher Broadcasting. The $100 million, 5-story building will be the headquarters for KOMO TV and will serve as a production and programming resource for Fisher's 25 radio stations and, with the addition of Retlaw Broadcasting in July, 13 television stations.
David A. Bennett has joined Commonwealth Land Title Insurance to head a title unit in its Bellevue office. Bennett, a native of Bellevue, spent nine years at Chicago Title before joining Commonwealth.
Evergreen Title Co., an underwriting agent for Lawyers Title Insurance Corp., has formed Evergreen National Services to better meet the needs of clients outside the geographic boundaries of its main operation servicing King and Snohomish counties. Adam Mihlstin has been appointed division manager and Mark Olsen has been appointed senior account manager. They will focus on deepening Evergreen's penetration into financial institutions in the home loan markets.
L.J. Melody & Co., a national commercial mortgage banking firm and real estate investment adviser, has arranged permanent financing of $30 million for Kilroy Realty L.P. The financing was provided by Aegon USA Realty Advisors Inc., and was secured by Kilroy Airport Center SeaTac. Funding was arranged through Bruce Anderson of L.J. Moody's Newport Beach, Calif., office and Jack Standeford of Melody's North Coast Mortgage office in Seattle. Kilroy Airport Center SeaTac consists of two 12-story office towers and a 2-story office building. Tenants include Boeing Commercial Airplane Group, Northwest Airlines, Port of Seattle, city of SeaTac and Lynden Air Freight. L.J. Moody & Co., is a CB Richard Ellis company and is one of the largest commercial mortgage banking firms in the country. It arranged $7 billion in commercial real estate transactions nationwide during 1998.
Eric Borja, Jerri Cole, Frank Duat and Bill Garlington are new sales associates at John L. Scott's Renton office. Borja and Garlington previously were with MacPhersons. Cole was with Gig Harbor Realty. Duat is a new real estate agent.
