King County Bar Association

Lucy Isaki has been elected president of the King County Bar Association. She is a lawyer with the state Attorney General's Office and served as a partner at Bogle & Gates for 20 years prior to that. The bar association also elected new officers. Included are: Frederick Noland as first vice president, Ralph Maimon as second vice president, David Kerruish as secretary and Catherine Shaffer as treasurer. Newly elected trustees include: John Carey and Sharon Sakamoto for the Central District, David Kahn for the East District and Jennifer Stevens Payseno for the South District.

Tallman & Severin

A new law partnership has been put together by former Bogle & Gates lawyers Richard C. Tallman and Linda C. Severin. The pair formerly practiced in the White Collar Criminal Defense Practice Group of Bogle & Gates. They also served as federal prosecutors. The new firm is called Tallman & Severin. It represents companies, corporate officers and employees whose business activities are under government administrative, civil or criminal investigations. Tallman & Severin is located at 1011 Western Ave., Suite 803, Seattle.

Tully's Coffee

Tully's Coffee has appointed Lisa Burgess Alm as creative director. Alm is responsible for the company's visual identity. She formerly was the visual merchandising consultant for Noah's Bagels and the Pike Place Market.

Reed McClure

Kent Caputo and Kristin Jorgensen have joined the law firm of Reed McClure. Caputo is a principal at the firm, leading its public policy practice, and representing clients in transactional and litigation matters. He also counsels and coordinates legal, policy and media efforts. Jorgensen is a non-attorney professional specializing in public policy concerns at the local, state and federal levels. Both come from Patton Boggs of Washington, D.C.

Hawkins & Co.

Seattle public relations agency Hawkins & Co. has hired Melissa Jones as an account coordinator. She is assisting account staff with writing and publicity projects for several clients.

Transnation Title

"National Real Estate Closings -- How States Differ" is the title of a July 15 presentation sponsored by Transnation Title Insurance Co. at the Washington Athletic Club from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Transnation sponsored a series of informal forums for the legal community addressing key issues in real property law, escrow and title insurance. The panel will include Martin Strelecky of LandAmerica National Commercial Services, Michael Barrett of Perkins Coie and Thomas Barkewitz of Alston Courtnage Proctor & Bassetti. Cost is $15. Norris, Beggs & Simpson

Mike Wood of Norris, Beggs & Simpson recently closed a loan on Building C in Quadrant Willows Corporate Center, Redmond. The loan for the 72,000-square-foot class A office building was placed through the firm's exclusive correspondent lender, Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society.

Keystroke

Keystroke has developed an online loan processing Web site for Seattle Mortgage which will allow the lender to capitalize on the growing number of people using the Web for e-commerce. Users can anonymously access the site at http://www.seattlemortgage.com 24 hours a day and pre-qualify for loans. Once approved, they can go through an automated application process. Seattle-based Keystroke developed technology that created a multi-lender mortgage marketplace on the Internet in 1996.

Pinnacle Realty Management

Seattle-based Pinnacle Realty Management recently helped a London firm make its first U.S. purchase: 11 multifamily properties that made up what Pinnacle officials call the highly prized Consolidated Apartment Ventures portfolio stretching from Miami to San Diego. The $205 million purchase originated out of Houston. The 11 properties total 3,341 units. Teresa Guidotti Lowery brokered the deal. Pinnacle also assumed property management responsibilities at the eight properties in Texas and California. Pinnacle officials say their work on the transaction demonstrates the company's growing national prominence.

Continental Savings Bank

Continental Savings Bank has hired Seattle native Jerry Estes as a loan officer in its Mountlake Terrace branch. He will originate residential home loans, counsel prospective homebuyers and work with real estate investors. He will specialize in meeting the needs of first-time homeowners and those seeking rehab and remodeling home loans.

Coldwell Banker Bain

Diedre Haines has been named managing broker of Coldwell Banker Bain's Kirkland branch. She has 23 years' real estate experience and replaces Nancy VanOverbeke, who joins Jim Llewellyn as co-broker for the firm's Everett office.

Windermere Real Estate

Laurie Samuelson has joined Windermere's Mount Baker office in Seattle as a sales associate. She previously worked for Etta's Seafood, a Seattle restaurant.

Bates Technical College

Several new hires and promotions were announced by Bates Technical College in Tacoma. Amy Goings is the new special assistant to the president, in charge of legislative relations and community development. Cheri Loiland is the development director. The college has a new assistant director for the Bates South Campus, Amelia Haag. Debbie Lean is the new development special assistant. Three people have joined the WorkFirst program: Blake Ingram, Cathy Forte and Mike Brandstetter.

Davies Pearson

The Davies Pearson law firm in Tacoma has added Mark B. Anderson as an associate.

Screaming Flea Productions

The Seattle production company Screaming Flea Productions has made a documentary about the rare Siberian tiger which will be shown on the Discovery Channel. Screaming Flea was formed last December when Belo Broadcasting closed its national Seattle-based production house. Matt Chan started the new company with the Belo production team.

Moss Adams

The accounting firm of Moss Adams has made several promotions in its Seattle office. Jennifer Gettmann, Dena Herbolich and Michelle Taylor are now senior managers. Dan Larson, Leslie Neel and Scott Urquhart are managers. Karri Adams, Dan Deilke, Tony Frost, Heidi Lewerenz, Mary Pat McCutcheon, Heidi Simmons, Ann Swanson and Jane Yao are seniors.

Corixa

Corixa, a research- and development-based biotechnology company, announced that its chairman and CEO, Steven Gillis, Ph.D., was recognized as the 1999 Pacific Northwest Healthcare Entrepreneur of the Year. Gillis was honored for Corixa's financial growth, advancements made in the discovery and development of treatments for cancer, infectious and autoimmune diseases, and for his dedication in fostering the company's distinct culture and values.

University of Phoenix

CarrAmerica Realty Corp. signed a 20,000-square-foot lease with the University of Phoenix at Rock Creek Corporate Center in Hillsboro, Ore. The school will open a new adult education center in the space. Pat Schreck of Melvin Mark Brokerage Co. represented the tenant.
