Hyster Sales Co.

Hyster Sales Co. has signed an agreement with Genie Industries to sell Genie's aerial work lifts from Hyster's locations in Seattle and Fife. Genie will fill out Hyster's product line, which includes Hyster lift trucks and Gehl shooting booms.

Bowers Power Systems

The Northwest's newest distributor of Generac Power Products is Bowers Power Systems, located at 22221 70th Ave. S., Kent. The company offers Generac factory-trained technicians and parts. Bowers can be reached at (800) 858-5881.

Point2 Internet

Point2 Internet Systems, Inc., a Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Internet technology provider for the heavy-equipment industry, has entered a joint venture with Bid.Com International to provide marketing and information services to manufacturers, dealers and buyers of heavy equipment. Bid.Com is an online auction sales organization with proprietary technology. Its offices are in Toronto and Tampa, Fla.

Stone Equipment

An expanded manufacturing plant is under construction in Honeoye, N.Y. for Stone Construction Equipment, Inc. The employee-owned company makes concrete and mortar mixers, hand-held construction equipment, dirt and asphalt ride-on rollers, power trowels, concrete pavement and masonry block saws, concrete vibrators and screeds. Stone's 50,000-square-foot addition will increase plant capacity by 60 percent, allowing expansion of the machine shop and manufacture of new product lines. The company is also investing $2.5 million in new CNC machine tools. The new facility will be operational by September of this year. Stone recently opened a new research and development facility as well.

Pacific Utility Equip.

Portland-based Pacific Utility Equipment, which serves the western U.S. and Canada with specialized truck equipment, has formed a new used-equipment division to be headed by Noel Brandon. Located in Tacoma, the division was created to satisfy a growing market need. Brandon has been a manager of an equipment company in Washington, and has developed used divisions for three other West Coast companies.

Karr Tuttle Campbell

James Austin Jr. and Floyd Newland of the law firm of Karr Tuttle Campbell have been appointed members of the Board of Governors of the newly formed Bar Association of America and the Commonwealth of Independent States. The Association is the first and only nonprofit organization devoted to bringing members of the legal profession in the United States and Canada together with their counterparts in the former Soviet Union. Karr Tuttle Campbell is a full service law firm with offices in Seattle and Portland. It is one of the oldest law firms in the area, having served the Northwest since 1904.

Port of Everett

Graham Anderson has been selected as the new planner for the Port of Everett. Anderson, a native of Everett, will replace Dennis Gregoire, who will be retiring July 31. Anderson comes to the Port of Everett from the city of Everett, where he has been employed for the past 12 years as a land use planner, transportation program manager and grant writer. Prior to his employment with the city of Everett, Anderson worked in the private sector for 10 years as a planner and real estate developer.

Noble House Hotels

Robbin Haas has been hired as the culinary director of Noble House Hotels, Resorts & Hideaways, a national hotel and resort chain based in Kirkland. Haas, who has been named one of the top ten chefs in the country by Food and Wine magazine, has created the menus of restaurants in South Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Miami Beach. Noble House Hotels, Resorts & Hideaways owns and operates the Hotel Edgewater in Seattle.

Highline Water District

Laurie Van Leuven has been hired as the public information coordinator for Highline Water District. Van Leuven will promote conservation education and serve as district representative to the South King County communities in the water district. Prior to joining Highline, Van Leuven was the public relations coordinator for Continental Savings Bank.

Re/Max International

Readers of Worth magazine have picked Re/Max International as one of the top performing financial services companies. Re/Max won the Best in Real Estate Brokerage category. The survey measured readers' satisfaction with a spectrum of service providers -- from banks and stock brokerages to real estate brokerages and insurance firms. Finishing second through fifth among real estate brokerages were Coldwell Banker, Century 21, Better Homes and Gardens and ERA, respectively. Worth magazine has more than 4,000 subscribers whose average net worth is more than $1 million.

Marcus & Millichap

Pinewood Square Apartments, a 180-unit complex in Lynnwood, has sold for $8.635 million, according to Marcus & Millichap. The per unit sale price of the property at 6500 208th St. S.W., was $47,972. Western Pinewood Partners LP of California bought the property from Pinewood Partners. Marcus & Millichap broker Ken Dudunakis represented the buyer.

John L. Scott

John L. Scott Real Estate has recognized five offices for their outstanding participation in the John L. Scott Foundation, which benefits children's health care throughout the Northwest. Participation is voluntary. Recognized officers were Bainbridge Island, Duvall, Laurelhurst, Maple Valley and Shelton. Agents commit to automatic deductions from their commissions. Donations are directed to the local hospital serving children.

Raskin & Associates

David C. Miller has joined Raskin & Associates, a commercial real estate services firm, as vice president. He was an associate director at Cushman & Wakefield and will continue specializing in office and high-tech sales and leasing.

Bedford Falls Funding

Bedford Falls Funding is celebrating its fourth anniversary as the Northwest's only mortgage banking company focusing on low- to moderate-income immigrants buying their first houses. During its first three years of operation, 70 percent of all loans funded were for new immigrants. In 1999, 95 percent of all loans funded have been to immigrants. The sales staff is 100 percent bicultural and bilingual, offering services in Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian, Vietnamese and Korean.
