Washington State Liquor Control Board

Gov. Gary Locke has appointed Vera Ing to the Liquor Control Board. Ing has experience as a Seattle City Council legislative assistant, a partner of Ing & Associates Architects/Planners of Seattle and principal of Mulvanny's Ing Associates Division of Seattle, as well as owning and operating Prima Vera Cafe. Her term expires Jan. 15, 2001.

Siemens Medical Systems

The Issaquah office of Siemens Medical Systems announced the appointment of John Pavlidis as president of its Ultrasound Division. Pavlidis joined Siemens in 1990 as a MRI product specialist, and recently served as vice president of the U.S. MRI Division. The company also announced David S. Quist is vice president of marketing and John Benson is vice president of product creation. Wolfgang Reim, company president for two years, will leave for other business opportunities. Siemens Medical Systems develops and manufactures medical equipment.

Washington Hills Cellars

Washington Hills Cellars of Kirkland announced the relocation of Brian Carter, vice president of winemaking operations and principal winemaker, to the Kirkland headquarters. He will continue to supervise winemaking at the Sunnyside winery as well as direct special projects. Day-to-day winemaking activities will be headed by Tom DiBello.

Publicis Dialog

Publicis Dialog announced the appointment of Jeff Hasen as president of the agency's Seattle office. Hansen has been with the company for five years, most recently as senior principal/managing director of public relations operations in Salt Lake City. Publicis offers integrated communications in advertising, public relations, direct marketing, sales promotion, design and Internet marketing.

Delta Computer Systems

Plant automation and motion control application veteran Herb Johanson was recently given additional duties in sales management at Delta Computer Systems of Vancouver. Johanson has 16 years experience in automation and motion control. Delta Computer Systems provides advanced capability motion controllers, color sensors and custom industrial control products for production line automation

City University

City University announced the appointment of Steve Stargardter as president. Stargardter joined the City University faculty in 1991 and recently served as academic vice president, as well as dean of the College of Business, Arts and Humanities, associate dean of Continuing Education and chair of General Education. City University offers higher education to working professionals with accredited degrees, certificate programs and other career development opportunities.

Foster Pepper Rubini & Reeves

The Anchorage law firm of Foster Pepper Rubini & Reeves announced the addition of Rebecca Hiatt and Joseph Levesque. Before joining the firm, Hiatt was a deputy magistrate and law clerk for the state of Alaska in Noem, Kotzebue and Barrow, Alaska. She is an associate practicing in litigation with a focus on employment discrimination. Levesque was an associate at the North Slope Borough Law Department, and will focus on general municipal law and commercial litigation.

ARTiSAN Software Tools of Portland announced the promotion of S. Caine O'Brien as chief executive officer. O'Brien was vice president of marketing for the company as well as executive vice president of North American operations. He has more than 20 years experience in high technology. ARTiSAN supplies modeling solution for development of real-time systems.

Christensen O'Connor Johnson & Kindness

The Seattle law firm of Christensen O'Connor Johnson & Kindness announced the promotion of Maria L. Culic as a member. Culic joined the firm as an associate in 1993, and will continue in intellectual property law focusing on U.S. and international software and electrical patent prosecution, copyright law, trademark law, intellectual property litigation, and technical licensing
