Michele Bucklin and Ben Mannikko join Charter Bank Redmond branch to open May 1. Bucklin joins as a vice president relationship manager. She has 17 years of experience in banking, most recently with Key Bank's commercial banking division. Mannikko joins as a relationship associate. He previously worked for Redmond National Bank.
Laird Norton Trust, a Seattle-based private investment and trust management company, has hired Jim Kreutner as vice president and senior business development officer. Kreutner is responsible for working with individuals in a variety of technology businesses to help them identify their wealth management needs and achieve their financial goals.
McCann-Erickson, a marketing and advertising company with offices in Seattle, announced several new hires and two promotions. Stacy Loya, soon to graduate from the University of Washington, is an assistant media planner. Kelly Riley worked with Seattle's Cola Advertising before joining McCann-Erickson as an assistant account executive. Jennifer Johnson leaves Seiland to join the company as a print estimator. Steve McCloskey is hired as an information technology technician. David Doran, soon to be graduating from Seattle University joins the company as an account coordinator. Anna Raus was promoted to assistant buyer and Danielle Sandoval was promoted to junior media planner.
Esterline, a Bellevue-based aerospace metal finisher, announced that it has finalized an asset purchase agreement of Surftech Finishes, a privately held Kent-based aerospace metal finishing company. The companies will operate as independent subsidiaries in Esterline's Advanced Materials Group. Terms of the transaction were not made available.
Phillip Fujii has joined the staff of the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, serving as neighborhood development manager for Northwest Seattle. As one of six sector managers that oversee implementation of neighborhood plans, Fujii will work with city departments and neighborhood stewardship committees to identify resources to support the Aurora/Licton, Broadview/Bitter Lake/Haller Lake, Crown Hill/Ballard, Fremont, Green Lake and Greenwood/Phinney plans.
Teri Moore is the new director of corporate and foundation relations for the Seattle Public Library Foundation. Moore is working to foster strong library partnerships with corporations and private public foundations. She brings extensive experience as a consultant and volunteer for nonprofit agencies, handling fund-raising, grant writing and public relations
James E. Coles, president of Western Peterbilt in Seattle, received the 2000 ATD/Heavy Duty Trucking Dealer of the Year Award, sponsored jointly by Heavy Duty Trucking Magazine and the American Truck Dealers division of the National Automobile Dealers Association.
Coles started out working for Caterpillar. In 1975, after significant exposure and training in the area of dealership operations, he left Caterpillar and took over a Peterbilt dealership in Riverton, Wyo. In 1976, he opened Wyoming Peterbilt in Caspar, Wyo. and in 1986 he purchased Western Peterbilt in Seattle.
Coles was on of six nominees evaluated by a team of judges from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. Candidates were selected for excellence in business, industry participation and outstanding civic accomplishment.
Founded in 1970, the ATD is the only national organization representing dealers selling new medium- and heavy-duty trucks.

Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle recently promoted four officers. Lisa Battaglia was named assistant vice president and financial services manager. Both Paul Liew and Kevin Nelson were promoted to assistant vice president and software support services managers. Glen Simencek was named assistant vice president and manager of customer funding.
Mainstar Software, a Bellevue-based provider of storage management and recovery solutions for mainframe and multi-platform computer systems, promoted Colleen Gordon to technical account manager. Gordon will provide software disaster recovery technical support to the company's Midwest clients.
The head of the Museum of New Mexico system is stepping down and taking a position at the Whatcom Museum of History and Art in Bellingham. Tom Livesay will resign from his position on April 30 and will take over as director of the Whatcom Museum on June 5. Livesay has served as the director of the Museum of New Mexico system for the past 15 years.
ePods, a Seattle-based Web access company, announced that Scott Bedbury, former chief marketing officer at Starbucks Coffee and worldwide head of advertising for Nike, will help drive the company's strategic efforts as brand architect. Bedbury will also assume a seat in the company's advisory board. ePods plans to make their services available next month.
AbleCommerce, the Vancouver-based developers of e-commerce software, announced that David Henderson has joined the company as its new CEO. Henderson brings more than 30 years management experience to the company's executive team.
ELF, a Seattle-based developer of software for the law and insurance industries, announced the hiring of Robert Thomas as director, strategic development and associate general counsel. Joining ELF from the law firm of Stokes Lawrence, Thomas has more than 20 years of experience in a broad range of legal practice specialties and the high-tech arena
Bellevue property manager Wilson Management Inc. bought J. Michael & Associates of Tacoma and has made it Wilson Management's Tacoma office. Ed DiLuck will manage the Tacoma office as its designated broker.
Wilson president Gary Wilson said he wants to expand in Pierce and Kitsap counties. "We're interested in increasing our management portfolio on a selective basis with long-term clients," he said. The company also provides commercial brokerage services.
Heather O'Keefe joined Seattle-based Keystroke.com as vice president of finance. A CPA, O'Keefe most recently worked as a senior manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in assembling private equity financing and public offerings. She has also worked in mergers and acquisitions and leveraged buyouts.
Carol Holley has been a main voice for Boeing Realty Co., but because acquisitions have left the aerospace giant with no fewer than 26 different payroll systems, Realty is getting a new voice.
Holley is moving from communications manager for support services to fill the same role for people systems. That division is about to embark on the task of reducing Boeing to about half a dozen payroll systems company-wide.
Ron Ciro will keep his roll as communications manager for facilities and add Holley's old duties to that.
Steve Rudman became a sales associate in John L. Scott Real Estate's Laurelhurst office.
