Deloitte Consulting

Deloitte Consulting announced that Kim Haber has been promoted to director of its enterprise transformation practice in the Seattle office. Haber, who joined the firm as manager in 1993, focuses on e-technology integration. She has more than seven years of leadership experience with Deloitte Consulting implementing enterprise systems with clients in multiple industries including energy, high-tech and manufacturing. In addition, Kevin Morris has been elected a partner in the Seattle office. Morris, who joined the firm as manager in 1995, practices in the health care industry, focusing in e-technology integration.

Wells Fargo

Wells Fargo Securities has hired Daniel Grunau as private client services regional manager and senior vice president. Based in Seattle, Grunau is responsible for managing brokerage, operations and sales activities throughout Washington.

Seattle University

Seattle University is one of 17 educational institutions nationally, and 23 worldwide, chosen by Oracle Corp. to be a member of its software pilot program. The program allows the university to teach college students software programs that will provide them with highly marketable skills. The university received an in kind grant of software and technical support that totaled $1.38 million.

Oracle established the Oracle Academic Initiative, a $500 million program designed to provide software, curriculum, professional development and recruiting resources to colleges and universities. The company’s mission is to enable colleges and universities to use cutting-edge technology to provide the most beneficial educational experiences to students in all disciplines.

SoftSquare International

Edmonds-based information system, software and database management consulting company SoftSquare International appointed Prasad Juluri as its director of technology and business development. Juluri will drive SoftSquare's business-to-business application integration activities, manage and develop SoftSquare's technical personnel and work to solidify the company's resource base not only between the Pacific Northwest and Hyderabad, India, but throughout the world

Bellevue Galleria

Schroeder USA Corp. has appointed Pat Morosic as general manager of the Bellevue Galleria. Morosic joins Schroeder after 13 years with the City of Seattle, including 12 years as manager of contracts and concessions at Seattle Center.

Bellevue Square

Forget-Me-Not, a retailer specializing in children's apparel, hand-painted furniture and vintage room decor, opened on Bellevue Square's second floor on July 22. Owner Barbara Al-Othaimeen moved the store from its former Issaquah location.

McCann-Erickson Seattle

MES has hired six employees and promoted three. Joining the staff are Crystal Wendt, print media accountant; Maria Luz Burri, IT technician; Stacy Berston, assistant buyer; Marisa Lampson, assistant media buyer; Kelsey Wohluter, LCI coordinator and Beth Corbley, assistant media planner. Dave Betts, who has been promoted to the position of senior account executive, will continue his work on Experience Music Project and the company website. Niki Woodard has been promoted to creative assistant, and Katie Kloida has moved to media planner from her former job as assistant media planner.

EvCC

EvCC has been awarded a $140,000 Workforce Development Grant to establish a telecommunications technology certificate and degree. The Workforce Training Board's 1999 Employer Survey reports that 71% of Snohomish County employers have had difficulty finding qualified applicants during the past year higher than the state average of 64 percent. Companies such as GTE, AT&T, and other carriers have expressed the need for more skilled workers who can deal with the convergence of the technologies necessary to install, operate, and maintain voice, digital, and wireless systems. EvCC has partnered with GTE, the Center for Career Alternatives, and the Sno-Isle Skills Center to pilot training designed to prepare applicants to enter installation and repair technician positions.

OneBuild

OneBuild, a Mountain View, Calif.-based business-to-business construction materials marketplace and Rentmaker, a Boston-based 24-hour marketplace for equipment and tool rentals, announced an agreement that provides OneBuild customers with a more streamlined and efficient way of soliciting competitive bids on construction tool and equipment rentals. Based on the terms of the agreement, OneBuild customers will have direct access to the Rentmaker site that will provide them with a cost-effective alternative to procuring items only needed on a temporary basis.

Employeesavings.com, a Bellevue-based provider of Web-based work/life solutions used by Fortune 500 employees to balance the responsibilities of work and home, announced that former FileNET Corp. executive Brian Colbeck, has joined the company as chief financial officer. As CFO, Colbeck will oversee the development and execution of the employeesavings.com financial strategy.
