Consolidated Freightways

Consolidated Freightways, a Vancouver-based transportation carrier, has named Kerry Morgan vice president/treasurer and James Tener vice president/controller. Morgan is responsible for management of treasury, risk management and strategic planning functions within the company. Tener is responsible for the management and financial accounting functions of the company, as well as accounts payable and payroll departments that employ 110 people.

The Westin Seattle

Vince Speziale has been named general manager of Roy's Seattle, a Euro-Asian restaurant, at The Westin Seattle. Prior to his appointment, Speziale served as rooms and revenue manager at the Edmond Meany Hotel in Seattle. He also served as restaurant manager of Andiamo Pizza in the Sheraton Seattle Hotel & Towers and as guest services manager at The Westin Santa Clara in Santa Clara, Calif.

Talking Rain Beverage

Talking Rain Beverage Co. of Preston is the official water of the Seattle Seahawks. The two-year contract makes Talking Rain Mountain Spring Water the exclusive bottled water for Seahawks games at Husky Stadium. This is the beverage company's first deal with a major sports franchise.

Typhoon

Typhoon, a Thai restaurant, has opened its doors in Seattle. The Seattle location, located at 1400 Western Ave., is the fourth location for owners Stephen and Bo Kline. The Klines launched their first restaurant in Portland in 1995. They have second restaurant in the Portland area and one in Redmond.

Onfree.com

Onfree.com Chairman and co-founder Mitch Davis announced the election of Richard La Fond as president and CEO. Onfree.com, a Tacoma-based network community provider was recognized as one of the top 10 technology firms at the Tacoma/Pierce County eBusiness Day 2000 Awards, Aug. 24. La Fond comes to Onfree.com from Parker Paint, where he was president and CEO since March 1996.

Photozone.com, a Seattle-based provider of online event photography, named Carl Lombardi Jr. vice president of sales and marketing. Lombardi will oversee the company's sales and marketing strategies. He has more than 10 years of sales and marketing experience, most recently with Spacelabs Medical.

Seattle public relations firm Imagio has hired four new employees. Kelly Leso has joined the company as a senior account executive. Kristen Johnson joins as an assistant account executive. Frani Schwery and Fred Vonderlage have both joined the firm as account coordinators.

DDB

DDB, a full-service communications company with offices in Seattle, has promoted Candy Cox to managing partner of the company. Cox heads up the company's issues and advocacy group. Based in Washington, D.C., she will oversee the work of approximately 25 communication professionals in the agency's D.C., New York and Seattle offices.

Ryan Instruments

Sensitech, a Beverly, Mass.-based provider of information solutions for the shipment of perishable products, announced the acquisition of Redmond-based Ryan Instruments. The acquisition will allow Sensitech to offer an end-to-end solution for monitoring in-transit shipments of environmentally sensitive products. Ryan, with offices in Fresno, Calif. and Sassenheim, The Netherlands, has 80 employees and specializes in products and services for in-transit monitoring for the produce, perishable food and horticultural industries.

Perkins Coie

Perkins Coie, a Seattle-based law firm has added six members to its trademark and copyright counseling and registration group and one to its Internet/e-commerce practice group. Lynne Graybeal, formerly a partner at Foster, Pepper & Shefelman has joined the firm's trademark and copyright counseling and registration group as co-chair. Brian Geohegan joins the same group as of counsel, emphasizing domestic and foreign trademark and copyright issues. Jessica Levy and Lalitha Mani were added to the expanded practice group. Also joining the group are Davina Childs and Grace Han as associates. James Dugan joins the firm's Internet/e-commerce practice group as a partner. Dugan focuses his practice on technology and content licensing and other transactions relating to Internet and e-commerce technology.
