@campus, a Kirkland-based provider of Web-based application platforms for the e-learning software market, has named Dr. Bob Edelbrock vice president and general manager of its Western region and Joe Bishouty vice president of operations and customer service. Edelbrock and Bishouty, together with former iTango Software executives and @campus founders, Antoine Tran, Emile Tran and Angie Hancock, will make up the company's executive management team. Edelbrock is former vice chancellor of information technology for San Diego Community Colleges. Bishouty comes to @campus from United Technical Services.
Robin Schachter, an attorney with the Seattle law firm Ryan, Swanson & Cleveland, has been named Member of the Year by the Washington Women Lawyers' King County chapter. Schachter was honored for her commitment and support of the organization and her years of service on its board of directors. Her practice focuses on litigation and construction law. In addition, the firm has elected Roger Myklebust to be managing partner. Myklebust has been in practice since 1972, and joined Ryan, Swanson & Cleveland in 1992. He focuses his practice on construction law and commercial litigation.
MarketFitz, a Seattle-based marketing services company, announced the appointment of Sandra Gray as controller and Julee Hutton as marketing coordinator. Gray will manage all accounting responsibilities for the firm. Prior to joining MarketFitz she served as chief financial officer for Compton Union at Washington State University in Pullman. Hutton will provide administrative and marketing support to the management team.
Northwest Folklife, a Seattle-based producer of festivals and provider of folk art education, is seeking to add members to its board of directors. Founded in 1971 to produce a festival of traditional and ethnic art for the region, volunteers filled most staff functions for the first decade. A professional staff assumed responsibility for the festival in the 1980s. Organizational activities now include, in addition to the festival, a year-round educational program, year-round traditional and ethnic arts events, developing a database of artists in the Pacific Northwest and working with traditional and ethnic arts communities. Computtel North America, a subsidiary of New Delhi-based Compunnel Software India, announced the opening of its North American headquarters in Bellevue. The company provides a range of services for the e-learning space including content customization, design and delivery, content conversion to the Internet platform, language translation services, platform enhancement and the full gamut of quality assurance processes and services. Other areas of focus are e-commerce applications development, Web site design, corporate content delivery and consulting.
Julie Smith has joined Cruise West, a Seattle-based small-ship cruise line, as manager of national accounts. Smith previously served as sales and business development manager for Alaska's Glacier Bay Tours and Cruises. She has more than 15 years of experience in the travel industry.
Bill Conradt has been named western sales manager for Cascade Designs, a Seattle-based manufacturer of outdoor equipment. Conradt comes to Cascade after serving for six years as an account manager for Cannondale Corp. His territory spans the Midwest, the Rockies and the West Coast.
Seattle advertising and public relations agency, KNCB Dave has hired several new members to its team and promoted three others. New hires include Nicole Wood as controller, Ashley Austin as an accounting assistant, Julie Jacobson as production coordinator and Jessica Fisher as office manager. Promotions include Susan Callahan to vice president of public relations, and Stephanie Wright and Laurie Christomos to account managers.
Longview Fibre Co., a Longview-based manufacturer of shipping containers, announced the promotions of E.V. Oliver to senior vice president of production for the company's Western Container division and Ervin Schatz to vice president of production for the division's West Coast region. Oliver has been with the company for 47 years, starting as an assistant press operator and most recently serving as regional manager in the company's Twin Falls, Idaho, plant. Schatz has been with the company for 35 years, starting as a plant supervisor in Seattle and most recently served as the plant manager in Yakima.
Clark Nuber, a Bellevue-based accounting firm announced the following promotions: Tom Sulewski to principal; Jim Darragh, Darcy Kooiker, Sheldon Salak, Rick Starkenburg and Ryan Stute to senior managers; Jennifer Deger, Mitch Hansen, Joyce Lee, Rollie Munger and Kerry Roemer to managers; and Karen Fitzgerald, Erin Green, Shawn Hansen, Andrew Prather, Dennis Weller and Leah Zaccaria to seniors.
Service Stop, a Seattle-based company providing Web-based employee incentive programs, has appointed Christine McClure to director of marketing and has promoted Steve Gappa to director of vendor development. McClure will head up the company's strategic marketing programs including branding, advertising, public relations and marketing communications. Carla Cross was promoted to Northwest regional director in the Bellevue office of Keller Williams Realty. Cross is responsible for recruiting owners of new Keller Williams offices and supporting existing ones in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Cross' accomplishments include publishing five books on real estate sales and producing a sales productivity seminar that won her awards as a sales educator.
Irma Dore of billionaire Paul Allen's company, Vulcan Northwest, will talk about Vulcan's array of development projects at Commercial Real Estate Women's next monthly lunch gathering. The event will be held at noon on Nov. 9 at the Bellevue Club, southeast of downtown Bellevue. Vulcan's projects include Experience Music Project, the new Seahawks stadium, 505 Union Station office building, rehab of the Cinerama theater and the proposed Terry Avenue Technology Court in South Lake Union. Some additional details on tomorrow's "Night of the Stars" dinner by the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties: NAIOP will induct developer Jon Runstad into its Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame and name Vince Lyons as public official of the year. Also, funnyman Pat Cashman, currently a humor columnist on the front page of the Eastside Journal, will serve as master of ceremonies for the Oct. 27 event. Runstad is founder, chairman and CEO of Seattle-based Wright Runstad & Co., which built numerous office towers in Seattle and Bellevue. Lyons works as a permitting specialist for the Seattle Department of Design, Construction and Land Use. The black-tie event will be tomorrow evening at the downtown Seattle Westin Hotel.
