Quinton, a Bothell-based provider of cardiology products focused on the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac disease, announced that chief operating officer John Hinson has been named president of the company. Hinson's primary focus is to complete development of new products for each of the company's franchise markets during the next 12 months.
Microsoft announced that Erik Renaud will join the company as its vice president of sales and service for its U.S. Central region. Based in Minneapolis, Renaud will manage Microsoft's sales teams in this 15-state region. Renaud was most recently vice president of sales and business development for Espira, an e-commerce security company.
Appliant.com, a Seattle-based management service provider that delivers end-to-end management of Internet infrastructure performance, announced the promotion of Patrick Joyce to vice president of sales and strategic alliances. Joyce, formerly Appliant's director of strategic alliances, is responsible for the formulation and execution of Appliant's direct and channel sales strategy, business alliance strategy, and customer relationship management.
WestCoast Hospitality announced the signing of a management and franchise agreement with the Cape Fox Lodge in Ketchikan, Alaska. The lodge will begin operating as the WestCoast Cape Fox Lodge beginning Jan. 1. It will be the second WestCoast Hotel in Alaska, joining the WestCoast International Inn in Anchorage. The WestCoast Cape Fox Lodge is owned by Cape Fox Corp., an Alaskan Native Corp.
McCarthy Building Companies is continuing to expand its Northwest Division in Bellevue by adding Paul Ryan and Juan Gonzales, both project engineers. Ryan transferred from the company's Phoenix office, where he served as a safety engineer and project engineer on several large projects. He holds bachelor's degrees from Northern Arizona University in construction management and business administration. Gonzales recently graduated from Washington State University with a bachelor's degree in construction management. He has over four years of industry experience.

Kendra Conley has joined the Seattle Home Show management team. Conley's responsibilities will focus on exhibitor space sales and sales on the show's Internet site, seattlehomeshow.com. The Seattle Home Show produces spring and fall home shows in the Stadium Exhibition Center.
Kathleen Nelson joined the law firm of Lane Powell Spears Lubersky in the Seattle office as an associate. Nelson concentrates her practice in civil litigation and insurance defense. Prior to joining the firm she practiced with Wilson Smith Cochran Dickerson of Seattle.
Badgley, Phelps and Bell, a Seattle-based investment management firm, announced the appointment of Cal Spranger as fixed-income trader on its fixed-income team. He comes from Dean Rauscher where he served in fixed-income sales.
The general members of the Washington Association of Sewer & Water Districts re-elected Pamela Martin, commissioner of the Coal Creek Utility District, to serve as its secretary. Martin also serves as the King County region leader for the association. She has served as a member of the board of directors since 1998. In addition, the association elected Roger Eberhart, manager of Olympic View Water & Sewer District, to serve on the association's board of directors.
Horizon Broadcasting Group, a Bellevue-based operator of small and middle market radio stations, has appointed Jeff Walker as general manager of the Boise Hawks baseball club. Walker was director of broadcasting for the Lansing Lugnuts and for the Sacramento River Cats. He was play-by-play announcer for both clubs with the additional responsibilities of network development, management, marketing and sales.
