The Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport, Ore., announced the appointment of Cheryl Wilson as public relations officer. Wilson will be responsible for the aquarium's daily public relations objectives and managing the various initiatives in the department. Previously, Wilson was the public relations/promotions coordinator for Eagle Creek, where she managed the public relations department for the California-based international manufacturer of travel gear.

Dan Garcia is the new executive director of enrollment services at the University of Washington, Tacoma. Garcia manages a staff that provides service in the areas of registration and records, financial aid, personal counseling, disability support and career services, as well as oversees student government and student organizations. He came to the university from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
Jan Lovejoy has been appointed general manager of The Painted Table restaurant. Loejoy's responsibilities include overseeing the daily operations and personnel of restaurant. She has more than 23 years of experience as an owner and operator of several businesses on the island of Kauai, Hawaii, including two restaurants

The Elliott, a Seattle hotel scheduled to open in spring 2001, has named Joe LaBreche director of corporate sales, Mary Molloy corporate sales manager, Audrey Fan director of group sales and Jodi Forslund director of sales. LaBreche served as a associate with PricewaterhouseCooper's hospitality and leisure practice in New York City prior to joining The Elliott. Molloy previously served as corporate sales manager for The Warwick Hotel in Seattle. Fan most recently served as director of sales and marketing for Seattle's Paramount Hotel. Forslund comes to The Elliott from The Orchid at Mauna Lani in Hawaii where she was director of group sales.

Cole & Weber, a full-service branding agency, announced the addition of Ged Buffee to its senior management team. Buffee brings more than 20 years of international consumer-goods marketing and branding experience to Cole & Weber's account service team. As managing director of the Portland office, he will oversee the agency's day-to-day operations. Most recently, he was a partner and vice president at Gauger & Silva Advertising, a natural products agency based in San Francisco.
