Hanson Engineers

Julie Rodwell has joined the Bellevue office of Hanson Engineers as the business development/project manager. The firm, headquartered in Springfield, Ill., offers engineering and architecture services. Before working for Hanson, Rodwell was program manager for the city of SeaTac, where she was liaison to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Sound Transit and the Olympic Pipeline Co. Previously, she was airport planning manager for King County International Airport (Boeing Field).

Pacific Architects

Pacific Architects, a Seattle design firm specializing in health care and institutional projects, has added three new employees.

Buthaina Gorham, project architect, is working on the surgery suite renovation for Children's Hospital in Seattle. Previously, she worked for TGA Architects in San Francisco.

Robert Hoskins has joined the firm as a senior project manager. Formerly director of architecture for Heery International Northwest region, he will be working on the Children's Hospital project, as well as new imaging centers in Everett and Federal Way.

Nestor Madeja joins the team as job captain, where he is involved in several projects for Children's Hospital. Prior to working for Pacific Architects, he was with the Johnson Braund Design Group in Seattle and Fletcher Pacific Construction in Guam.

Thompson Vaivoda Architects

Marc Labadie has been promoted from senior associate to principal at Thompson Vaivoda Architects in Portland. Since joining the firm in 1986, he has been the project manager for the Nike headquarters and the Wilsonville High School. He is working on the final phase of the north expansion of the Nike campus.

Korn/Ferry International

The Seattle office of Korn/Ferry International, an executive search firm, has named Elizabeth Cummings a principal and Pam Golightly director of recruiting for the global advanced technology practice. Cummings specializes in assisting biotechnology, pharmaceutical, biomedical device and e-health organizations to identify and fulfill their executive needs. Golightly is responsible for recruiting managing directors and principals with experience in technology fields to Korn/Ferry offices throughout the western U.S.

David Evans and Associates

David Evans and Associates (DEA), an environmental and engineering firm, has hired several employees in its Bellevue office.

Jim St. John joined the firm as a senior transportation engineer. St. John has 17 years of experience in civil engineering design and project management for a variety of road improvement and site development projects. He previously worked with Rosewater Engineering in Seattle and HMH in San Jose. His current work assignments include a hydraulic report on state Route 20 for the Washington State Department of Transportation, and a charter bus facility in the city of SeaTac.

Dean Hobson rejoins DEA as a transportation planner. Prior to joining the firm, Hobson founded and operated CDH Engineering in Washington. He is working on Sound Transit's Kirkland HOV access program.

Michèle Herzberg joins DEA as senior graphic designer.

Kim Hazard joins DEA as a marketing assistant. She previously worked for Earth Consultants and Hosey and Associates Engineering Co., both in Bellevue.

The Maids

Ned Somerville, owner of The Maids, a professional house cleaning service in Bellevue, was named to The Maids International Winner's Circle, from more than 150 franchise owners, for outstanding operational efficiency. Somerville was honored for his business practices which includes sending four maids who follow a 22-step cleaning process at each home.

WildTangent

WildTangent, a Web-based technology and content company based in Redmond, announced the addition of artist, designer and art director Paul Steed as a producer. Steed will create and direct creations of original content showcasing the company's Web Driver, its compression technology and software development kit. He brings nine years of artistic experience in game development spanning four major game companies — Origin, Iguana Entertainment, Virgin Interactive and most recently id Software.

JayRay Ads & PR

Melissa Meredith has been hired as production/traffic coordinator at JayRay Ads & PR, a Tacoma-based full-service ad agency. Meredith joins the agency after six years of freelance work. She will oversee project production for clients in banking, health care and the retail industry.

Lake Union Dentistry

Seattle dentist, Steven Albright, was one of 250 dentists from the United States inducted as a fellow of the International College of Dentists. An honorary organization for the recognition of outstanding and meritorious service to the profession, the College honored Albright for service to the science of dentistry. Albright practices at Lake Union Dentistry in Seattle.
