Seattle-based Evergreen Bank has added William Baldwin to its board of directors. Baldwin is CEO and president of Baldwin Resource Group, Inc., a business consulting company that specializes in acquisitions and mergers, strategic planning and risk-management services. Founded in 1971, Evergreen Bank has two branches, one near I-5 in downtown Seattle and one on 196th Street SW in Lynnwood.
The Coal Creek Utility District has elected new board officers Vic Carpine. was elected president, Richard Anderson was elected vice president and Pamela Martin was elected secretary. Coal Creek provides water and sewer service to nearly 20,000 customers in Newcastle, south Bellevue, north Renton and King County.
Tacoma Public Utilities Director Mark Crisson has been elected vice-chair of the American Public Power Association, an organization that represents more than 2,000 publicly owned utilities nationwide. He is scheduled to assume the chairmanship in 2002. Crisson has served on the board of directors of the association and chaired a task force on retail competition in the electric utility industry. He has also served as chair of the Large Public Power Council, which represents the 20 biggest publicly owned electric utilities in the country.
Last week Deborah Ross, chair of the Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council, submitted her resignation to Gov. Gary Locke, effective July 1, 2001 or sooner at the governor's pleasure. Ross noted that the demands of the position have been at unprecedented levels in the three years she has been on the job and that she is resigning for personal and family reasons. The EFSEC chair is a part-time citizen position. The Washington State EFSEC is the single non-federal authority for licensing major energy facilities in the state.

RealNetworks, a Seattle-based provider of Internet media delivery, announced that Larry Jacobson has been appointed president and chief operating officer. Jacobson most recently was president and chief operating officer of Ticketmaster. He will be responsible for day-to-day management of the company's core operations. In addition, Nagesh Pabbisetty has joined the company as vice president of Real Broadcast Network, the company's hosting solutions division. Pabbisetty was woth Prodigy Communications as managing director of broadband DSL, dial-up and wireless Internet services. Ricardo Cidale has been promoted to vice president of media systems sales for the Americas. Cidale, formerly general manager, Latin America and U.S. Latino, will now directly manage the North and South American media segment of the media systems division of the company, while continuing to oversee its Latin American team.
Portland State University's School of Business Administration and School of Extended Studies has launched an eMBA program, a master of business administration degree combining the university's MBA program with the educational and distance-learning capabilities of the Internet. The three-year program includes four campus-based residencies per year, enhancing the online portion of the classes. The program is the only AACSB-accredited program of its kind in the Northwest.
Foster Pepper & Shefelman announced that Peter Jerdee joined the firm as an associate in its Seattle law office. Jerdee's litigation and arbitration practice focuses on securities law, antitrust, intellectual property, professional liability defense, bankruptcy-related litigation and various breach of contract actions.
EverTrust Financial Group, an Everett-based holding company, announced the addition of Brian Morse as database manager for the company and its holdings. He will play a key role in the evaluation of new hardware and software products and their associated business impact analysis.
Vitessa Corp., a Seattle-based e-commerce network of suppliers, services and infrastructure, announced that Myra Peterson has joined the company as director of northeast sales operations. Peterson will be responsible for negotiating strategic contracts and bringing new customers to Vitessa.
Parker LePla, a Seattle-based brand development and high-tech public relations firm, has hired seven new employees. Randy Balogh, Robert Crowther, Kathryn Harper, Briana Marrah and George Sundborg join the firm's Dexter Avenue North office, while Jennifer Savino and Natasha Younes join the firm's Sodo branch, which was opened on First Avenue South in 1999.
