Moss Adams, a Seattle-based CPA firm, announced the hiring of Cheryl Storey as a senior manager in the health care division of its consulting group. Storey has expertise in the areas of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement issues, preparation of exception requests for psychiatric and rehabilitation units and licensure and certification assistance.
Graham & Dunn, a Seattle-based law firm, announced the addition of Daren Nitz and Mark Reinhardt as shareholders and members of it technology & e-commerce team, and Soojin Kim and Kelly Mann as associates and members of its real estate team. Both Nitz and Reinhardt come to the firm from Van Valkenberg Furber Law Group. Kim was an assistant attorney general for the State of Washington before joining Graham & Dunn. Mann comes to the firm from Ramis Crew Corrigan & Bacharach.
The Washington Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates announced that it has elected Ron Perey as its president for the year 2001. The executive board for 2001 also includes Ronald Leighton, president-elect; Cheryl Robbins Berg, vice president; Thomas Fain, treasurer; and Reed Schifferman, secretary. The board also presented its "Courageous Lawyer Award" to Morris Dees, chief trial counsel of the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, Ala., at its annual awards dinner held March 2.
Members of the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties won honors in eight out of nine categories at the state remodeling awards, sponsored by the Building Industry Association of Washington. Honored companies were: Stone Pillar Remodeling, HCS Construction, Shirey Contracting, JBL Construction, Westhill Construction, Coastline Construction, Prestige Custom Builders and Windows Doors and More
DLR Group has appointed mechanical engineer Douglas Holtan; CAD & IS manager Joel Goetz; architect Kay Zovanyi; architectural designer Erin Reichman; and justice marketing specialist Lori Coppenrath to positions of associate. Lisa Johnson, architect, was promoted to senior associate.
Holtan is a mechanical engineer in DLR Group's education studio and has worked with a wide variety of clients since joining in 1999, including Boeing, Amazon.com and the Seattle School District. Zovanyi is a registered architect of 14 years. She has most recently been working with LVMH, Verizon Wireless, and Amazon.com. As Information Specialist, Goetz acts as systems manager, software trainer and onsite programmer for DLR Group's Portland and Seattle offices.
With a background in criminology and psychology, Coppenrath works on facility planning and special studies for DLR Group's justice studio. She also serves as its marketing representative. Reichman is a designer in DLR Group's retail studio, currently managing projects for Eddie Bauer, American Eagle and LVMH. Some of Johnson's work includes international Amazon.com facilities and Seattle and Longview School District projects, including award-winning Robert Gray Elementary School.
Joseph A. Leysath, who currently is project manager for Sparling's work at the University of Washington Law School, the Stafford Creek Correction Center and Stamps.com.
Jeffrey C. Maurer, whose most recent projects include the St. James Community Hospital renovation in Butte, Mont.; St. Charles Medical Center for Health and Learning in Bend, Ore.; and Providence Alaska Medical Center's North Addition in Anchorage.
Rene P. Ramos, is a project manager who has been with Sparling for nearly five years, bringing expertise in the design of electrical engineering, particularly in health care facilities.
Mark A. Rogers, who has been with Sparling for four years and has counseled clients on the King county Emergency Coordination Center, the Oregon Convention Center, the University of Washington in Bothell and in Tacoma and the Starbucks board room.
David F. Zehrung, who has designed telecommunications systems -- including cabling, telephone, and radio provisions in 911/Emergency Operations Centers -- for the city of Seattle, state of Washington, Snohomish and King Counties.
Imad Bahbah comes to McGranahan Architects with 16 years experience focused primarily on municipal facilities, transit projects and transit oriented development (TOD). Imad's successful track record in the Northwest region enables him to be a leader on McGranahan Architects' public and community based design projects.
GeoEngineers has hired Fran Yost as corporate marketing director. She will be responsible for strategic marketing implementation for the firm’s 11 offices, corporate communications, and will participate in senior management processes. GeoEngineers is a 200-person firm offering diverse geotechnical, environmental, geologic, ground water, GIS, ecological, permitting and Endangered Species Act consulting services.
MulvannyG2 Architects has promoted Allen Dauterman to associate. Dauterman will assist in the firm's organizational direction, as well as plan and direct the development, design and construction of various projects.
Previously a senior designer, he will continue to serve as the project development director for more than 40 Costco Wholesale projects in the San Francisco and Western Canadian regions. Michael Johncock recently joined Mulvanny as a principal at its Seattle-Lake Union office. Johncock will be the project manager for the 220,000-square foot Tacoma Convention Center, which is scheduled to break ground in spring 2001. He will also manage the shell and core designs for a wide variety of corporate office architecture projects.
Emick Howard & Seibert, Inc. added to its staff Chee Gan and Ben Kim as intern architects. Both are currently working on commercial office, financial and retail projects in Seattle, San Francisco and Orange County. Dan Raynor recently joined Berger/ABAM Engineers Inc. at the Federal Way office. Raynor is currently working on the Pier D design/build project for the U.S. Navy. Janine LaMaie joined as marketing coordinator. LaMaie will be supporting the business development and communications department for the Federal Way office. Steve True rejoined the Federal Way office. True is working on the Shuttle Transit System guidebeam upgrade at the Sea-Tac International Airport, and the Canyon Road retaining wall design for the city of Kent.
David Evans and Associates, Inc. has hired several employees for its Bellevue office. Craig Flamme joins the firm as a senior environmental planner. His environmental project experience includes housing, utilities, land use, transportation and capital facilities. Katherine Casseday was recently hired as a senior transportation engineer. Her current assignments include lead traffic engineer to study safety and roadway improvements on State Route 2 for WSDOT in Chelan County and she was selected project manager to explore corridor traffic optimization and network improvements in Bellevue. Dean Smith has been hired to work in the Real Estate Services Division as a senior real property specialist. He is currently serving as real property specialist on the I-405 Corridor Program for the Washington State Department of Transportation.
