Robert Hamilton has been appointed associate administrator of Harborview Medical Center's clinical support services. Hamilton's responsibilities for clinical services includes the following departments: radiology and diagnostic imaging services, hospital laboratory medicine, pathology, materials management, purchasing, engineering, clinical engineering, environmental services, nutrition and food services, parking/commuter services, public safety/security, laundry and linen, and telecommunications.

Don Dixon has joined Pacific Fisherman, a Seattle-based outfitter for fishing vessels, as general manager and shipyard director. Dixon brings 28 years of experience in the marine marketplace to the company. He is also an active ship surveyor, a licensed naval architect and a marine engineer for the state of Washington.

Short Cressman & Burgess

William Dixon, an attorney for Seattle law firm Short Cressman & Burgess, has become a certified sports agent for the National Football League. Dixon is concentrating his practice in the area of commercial litigation and sports and entertainment law. As one of nine NFL agents in the state of Washington, he will offer athletes representation in contract negotiations, endorsements, public relations and marketing. He played football for the University of Arizona and graduated from the University of Washington School of Law.

Metron Systems

Donald Rich has been named president at Metron Systems, a Snoqualmie-based developer of high-performance, non-contact measurement systems for the global dimensional inspection market. Rich joins the company after spending the past seven years at Bothell-based Plexus Corp. in various executive management capacities. Rich's top responsibility will be managing the development of the G2X, the company's new, optical laser-scanning device due for roll-out later this year

Clise Properties

Ben Barron has been named a vice president for Clise Properties. Barron will lead construction projects, which means 1700 Seventh Ave., the 24-story office joint venture between Clise and Nordstrom that will serve as Nordstrom's new headquarters in downtown Seattle. Barron came from two years at Ledcor Industries. Before Ledcor he worked for 12 years at Marathon Developments. Clise said Barron has managed the planning and development of more than 16 million square feet of high-rise office, exhibition, retail and hotel space.

Northwest Suites

Steven Bredeweg joined Northwest Suites as chief financial officer. The company, based in Redmond, provides corporate housing services. Bredeweg, a CPA, moved from Lake Forest, Ill.,where he worked as an operational analyst for Pactiv Corp., previously called Tenneco Packaging. Bredeweg said that when he received his MBA from Northwestern University in Chicago, " offers from dot-com and technology companies were pretty abundant. Although Northwest Suites has been in business for more than 10 years, they still have an entrepreneurial, fun and energetic climate that feels like they're on the launching pad of something remarkable."

Mahan sold $93M worth of Puyallup homes

Jerry Mahan had a year. The residential agent in Puyallup for John L. Scott Real Estate sold $93 million in homes last year, earning him the 2,500-agent firm's No. 1 producer designation for the sixth time. Mahan, a 23-year veteran, said he oversees a team that did the work. "I believe after 23 years that I am more of a coach of agents," he said. "I've assembled a team that tries to create the Nordstrom effect of performance with personal service."

Filley featured at BDA’s annual meeting

The Bellevue Downtown Association will hold its "annual celebration" on Wednesday, March 28, at 6 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Bellevue. Bob Filley, director of the Runstad Center for Real Estate Studies at the University of Washington will give the keynote speech. The association said the event will also provide a look at "the architectural vision of downtown Bellevue’s future."

Urban Land Institute on technology

The Urban Land Institute’s Seattle District Council will hold a morning conference next Wednesday on "Technology and the Seattle/Eastside Market." The event is scheduled for 7:15 to 10 a.m. at Bell Harbor on Pier 66 in downtown Seattle. Speakers will include Kemper Freeman, Dan Carlson, David Grine, Laurent Poole, David Kerr and Dan Dahl. Carlson will talk on how tech firms locate facilities and how Seattle compares with other areas in the country. One panel on electric power will discuss "Where Will We Get the Juice?" Another will take on whether there’s life in Internet commerce.

Windermere Real Estate

Five people became sales associates in two Windermere offices. Jane Teston, Jed Kliman and Mary McCrone joined the Seattle/Wall Street office. David Bagg and Cindy Ripplinger began in the Magnolia office.

Various Coldwell Banker Bain offices added a total of 24 new sales associates:

Antarcti.ca Systems

Antarcti.ca Systems, a developer of visual network maps, announced that Mickey Friedman has joined the company as vice president, marketing. Based in Seattle, Friedman will lead the marketing team in opening new target markets for the company. Prior to joining the company, he served in senior management positions for FileNET, Chili!Soft, Pinnacle Publishing, Microrim, and Fox Software.

Terabeam Corp.

Terabeam Corp., a Seattle-based provider of high-speed optical telecommunication service, announced that Denver will be the second market to obtain Terabeam's new service. The company officially launched its commercial network and opened for business in Seattle last month. The company provides businesses with broadband connectivity by sending invisible, eye-safe light directly through office windows. Its fiberless optical service will allow Denver-area companies to connect to other offices and to the Internet.

WorldNet Technologies

WorldNet Technologies, an Issaquah-based infrastructure provider, announced the acquisition of Government Computer Sales (GCSI) in a multi-million dollar stock swap deal specifying that GCSI remain intact as a wholly owned subsidiary of WorldNet. GCSI operations are going forward normally without any layoffs or changes in their national business plan. However, WorldNet has announced plans to expand GCSI by adding additional personnel in IT services, consulting and customer service to help administrate and deliver WorldNet contracted services internationally. GCSI President Delores Bergstrom remains in charge of the company’s operations.

Safeco

Safeco appointed long-time company executive Bill Lebo as interim chief operating officer for Safeco Personal Insurance, the company's largest insurance segment. Lebo will continue to serve as executive vice president for the company's property & casualty companies. In this role, Lebo is responsible for the company's field operations nationwide, and for the marketing and claims departments of the property & casualty companies.

Red Lion Hotels

Red Lion Hotels & Inns announced the opening of the company's 36th property and its 11th in Oregon — the 68-room Red Lion Inn & Suites Portland Airport. The property is owned and managed by Sandy Investments. The new hotel is located one mile from the airport and 10 miles from downtown Portland
