Golder

Golder Associates recently hired Michael Kyte, Neil Gilham and Paul Wagner, and promoted Douglas Dunster. Kyte is a senior marine biologist with more than 35 years experience in Puget Sound and other cold water marine environments. His specialties include near shore habitats, submerged aquatic vegetation, impact evaluation and mitigation, and contained sediment assessment.

Gilham was hired as a senior environmental geologist responsible for managing phase I, II and remediation projects for institutional investors, REITs and development clients in the Northwest. Wagner joins Golder as a senior fisheries biologist with 18 years experience as a professional fisheries biologist in the Columbia River Basin. He is responsible for the Columbia River program management, which will include providing clients with expert services in the areas of salmonid passage at mainstem hydroelectric projects; water quality; ESA compliance; subbasin planning and watershed assessment. Dunster was recently named group leader for the environmental sciences group providing consulting services in three principal areas including surface and groundwater evaluation, development and protection; environmental compliance; and ecological sciences including ESA compliance. He provides senior expertise to Golder offices worldwide. Other promotions include: Colby Caywood, project engineer; Paul Conrecode, project environmental scientist; Aaron Fox, project geologist; Andreas Kammereck, senior engineer; Shawn McNamara, project engineer; and Ted Norton, senior environmental scientist.

KEECO

KEECO, a provider of environmental treatment technologies worldwide, announced the appointment of Gary Vest as senior advisor to assist the company in its global expansion plans in its Lynnwood office.

As a senior career executive responsible for establishing policy for and overseeing implementation of environmental programs worldwide for the U.S. Department of Defense, Vest will apply this expertise to establish KEECO’s strategic marketing and environmental focus region by region. Vest has extensive experience and current knowledge of environmental issues worldwide. Vest has participated in international affairs for the past 20 years in organizations such as NATO, UN, the EU, the European Environmental Agency and the Organization for Stability and Cooperation in Europe.

Swenson Say Faget

Swenson Say Faget announced the following promotions and new employees to its downtown Seattle office: Leslie Stark has joined the firm as marketing manager. A graduate of Washington State University, she has five years of experience in A/E marketing. Debra Shields has joined as office manager/controller. Previously with Moss Adams, she has more than 20 years public and private accounting industry experience. Rachel Beguin has been promoted to administrative assistant. She recently moved to Seattle after graduating from Oklahoma State University. Chris Nickerson has joined the firm as a staff engineer. He received his BSCE from the University of Washington. Cory Fraser has joined the firm as a staff engineer. Originally from Dover, N.H., he is a recent graduate of the University of New Hampshire. Beata Bowen has joined the firm as receptionist; she graduated from the University of Washington in June.

HDR

Dale Muellerleile and Ronald Owes were recently named vice presidents at the engineering firm HDR in Bellevue. Muellerleile is a senior project manager with experience in design of transportation facilities for commuter railroads, light rail transit systems, high speed train and freight lines. Owes has more than 26 years experience in civil and environmental engineering and has responsibility for projects associated with waste disposal, including solid waste management plans, site evaluations and designs for solid waste.

Berger/ABAM

Dee Young of Berger/ABAM Engineers was recently appointed to business development and communications manager. She will manage and coordinate efforts of the 13-member BDC staff at Berger's Federal Way, Seattle and Portland offices.

Alexander Mihaylov recently joined Berger in the Federal Way office. Mihaylov’s engineering background focuses on commercial, industrial, municipal and institutional building facilities design. Prior to joining Berger, he worked for TriState Engineering. John Jacob recently joined Berger in the Federal Way office. His background includes engineering experience in the construction industry. He has a strong background in analyzing new or proposed concepts for feasibility and constructability, preparation and inspection of contract and shop drawings, quality control checks, materials testing and supervision of procedures in the field during construction. His most recent involvement at Berger includes the Pier D and Pier 4 projects for the U.S. Navy at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton.

CKC

Cary Kopczynski & Co. of Bellevue recently announced the addition of Paul Brienen as senior project manager. He has more than 10 years experience in structural engineering design and management experience. Prior to joining CKC, his experience included work on high rise and mid-rise facilities, stadiums, residential towers, parking structures and hotels. He is working on the Western and Clay condominiums, a 12-story building in Belltown.

Studio Meng Strazzara

Ken Eckert has joined Studio Meng Strazzara as senior architect. Eckert has worked at firms throughout the Northwest, most recently at Kohler Associates. He brings experience in the design of multi-family housing, commercial buildings, educational facilities and church projects

Roosendaal-Honcoop

Roosendaal-Honcoop Construction of Bellingham has added Geoff Stodola to its construction team as a senior project manager. Stodola, formerly a senior project manager with Exxel Pacific, has over 10 years of construction and design management experience. He has managed commercial, retail and residential projects as large as $40 million throughout the West Coast. He holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Washington and is an associate member of the American Institute of Architects.

Strand Hunt

Kirkland's Strand Hunt Construction has received an outstanding rating from the Contracting Division of the U.S. Department of the Army for its work on the Medical Clinic replacement project at McChord Air Force Base. The rating is based on safety, client service, professionalism, quality, timeliness and budget issues. Strand Hunt's team included project manager Jim Levin, superintendent Walt Woodward, project coordinator Patricia Wines, quality control manager Doug Hamilton and safety officer Gary Rice.
