An accredited architect and landscape architect, Benotto brings her specialty of master planning to Weber + Thompson. Benotto is planner and project manager for the mixed-use Village Green community in Issaquah Highlands, and a member of the project team for Colman Tower, a mixed-use building in downtown Seattle. She was recently appointed to the city of Seattle Design Review Board for West Seattle.
McCarter joins Weber + Thompson as a job captain using his design development expertise. He is currently working on Issaquah Highlands, a 380-unit master-planned community with a variety of high-density cottage-types homes.
Larson joins the interior design studio as a job captain. Larson's current projects include Point Edwards, a multi-family development located at the old Unocal Tank Farm site in Edmonds, and a private residence on Mercer Island.
Holland is the new public relations director, bringing years of experience in marketing, public relations and the design industry. She is a graduate of the University of Washington, and has worked with companies such as Weyerhaeuser, Holland America and Hogue Cellars.
Seattle-based Weber + Thompson is a full-service design firm specializing in architecture, interior design and planning.
Management consulting and engineering firm R. W. Beck named Chuck Williams, director of operations for the West Coast offices, as an owner.
Williams, who is based in the firm's Seattle office, has provided expertise in consulting and engineering services to the utility industry for more than 20 years.
Power planning, routing, design and construction for various power projects are among his specialties. Besides serving on a technical review committee for the Washington Legislature, he has been instrumental in more than 50 transmission line projects in 21 states and overseas. He also has extensive experience with the environmental issues associated with transmission and substation projects, and has prepared environmental documents for project alternatives and full environmental impact reports.
R. W. Beck is a management consulting and systems engineering firm with offices nationwide.
Architect Larry Ahern has been appointed senior associate at DLR Group. Ahern joined DLR Group two years ago, and has primarily been working in the firm’s education studio on projects such as the Foss High School Addition & Renovation, Hazen High School renovation and auditorium addition, and various projects at Evergreen State College.
Portland-based Tsongas Litigation Consulting has opened an office in the Wells Fargo Tower in downtown Seattle. The office will be staffed by R. Craig Smith, senior trial consultant, and Theodore Prosise, Ph.D., trial consultant. Tsongas Litigation Consulting has been serving the Northwest for 25 years and currently has clients in 40 states.
ClearPoint named Kimberly Houghton as account director, Deborah L. Sliman as account associate and Jean M. Mahoney as marketing analyst. Houghton and Sliman will work in the Seattle office and Mahoney will work in the Portland, Maine, and Newton, Mass., offices. Prior to joining ClearPoint, Houghton served as an account manager with Esurg Corp. and Sliman held positions in human resources, marketing and management. Mahoney was previously an executive account representative for Beverly Gottlieb & Associates in Massachusetts. ClearPoint, founded in 1997, serves more than 500 clients as an employee benefit consulting and administration provider.
The Liberty Lake Sewer & Water District was named District of the Year by the Washington Association of Sewer & Water Districts. The award is presented to the special purpose utility district which most exemplifies and supports the goals of the association.
Olympic Hot Tub has opened a new retail showroom in Issaquah at the Pickering Place Shopping Center. A grand-opening for the 3,000-square-foot showroom is scheduled for Oct. 12. In addition to the new showroom, Olympic operates showrooms in Seattle, Fife and Everett with a distribution center located in Tukwila.
David Shelton has been appointed director of operations for the Semiahmoo Golf & Country Club at Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine. Shelton will oversee operations at both the Semiahmoo Golf Course and the Loomis Trail Golf Course. Previously, Shelton, who is a PGA A-1 professional, was director of golf and general manager at Indian Summer Golf & Country Club in Olympia.
