Katharine Angell of Western Tile and Marble has achieved certification as a ceramic tile consultant. The title is awarded to those completing a program by the Ceramic Tile Institute of America. Angell is a project manager at the Bellevue-based firm with 17 years of experience in the tile industry.
Troy Christian has been appointed general manager and Sean Quinn has been appointed executive chef of the new El Gaucho in Tacoma. Previously, Christian served as general manager of Pazzo Ristorante in Portland and Quinn was executive chef of Daniel's Broiler in Bellevue. El Gaucho, with current locations in Seattle and Portland, will open the Tacoma restaurant Nov. 15.
Stoel Rives named Chris Walker an associate in the employee benefits practice group in its Seattle office. Previously, Walker was a staff associate at Arthur Andersen.
Stephen J. McCaffray, former CEO of National Frozen Foods, has been inducted into the National Frozen Food Convention's Frozen Food Hall of Fame. McCaffray, who became president of National Frozen Foods in 1986, spent four decades with the company before retiring in June 2002. National Frozen Foods is headquartered in Seattle with plants in Chehalis, Moses Lake and Albany, Ore.
Sarah Hulbert has been elected a co-chair of the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association. Hulbert is currently the national director of reverse mortgage lending at Seattle Mortgage Co., a subsidiary of Seattle Savings Bank. James Mahoney, CEO of Financial Freedom Senior Funding Corp. of Irvine, Calif., was also elected as co-chair.
Wells Fargo named Kathleen Tye vice president and business development officer for factoring services of Wells Fargo Business Credit. Tye previously served as a business banking manager and commercial loan officer for Wells Fargo. She will be based in Bellevue. Wells Fargo Business Credit is a commercial finance subsidiary of Wells Fargo and finances accounts receivable and inventory for small- and middle-market businesses.

The Manitowoc Co. named Dennis McCloskey to succeed Thomas J. Byrne president and general manager of Manitowoc Marine Group and vice president of the Manitowoc Co. Byrne will retire at the end of 2002. McCloskey is currently vice president and general manager of Manitowoc’s Marinette Marine Corp. McCloskey will oversee all aspects of Manitowoc Marine Group, including Marinette Marine, Bay Shipbuilding, and the company’s Toledo and Cleveland operations.
Intra Technologies of Tukwila recently named Randy Walker regional sales manager based in Dallas. Walker will be working with truck OEMs, dealers, and warehouse distributors throughout the Midwest, eastern U.S., and eastern Canada. Most recently, Walker was vice president of marketing for American Trucksource.
Helac Corp. appointmed Ron E. Beigh to the position of vice president of operations. Beigh’s previous positions include division operations manager at QPM Aerospace, vice president of manufacturing at Silver Eagle Manufacturing Co. and operations manager at Keystone Lighting. Seattle-based Helac manufacturers hydraulic rotary actuators used as component parts for OEMs and after-market attachments for the construction equipment industry.
Classic Construction Models of Beaverton, Ore., has received a licensing agreement from Manitowoc Cranes to produce precision die-cast models of Manitowoc cranes and attachments. The Manitowoc 555 crawler crane is the first model set for production with a release date of May 2003.
