The Entrepreneur's Source

The Entrepreneur's Source, an independent business ownership consulting company based in Southbury, Conn., opened a new office in Bellevue. The office is owned by Al Dux, a Bellevue resident with 20 years of experience in computer and network services.

GA Creative

GA Creative, a Bellevue-based marketing communications and graphic design firm, added Rebecca Songer to its marketing strategy and content department. Songer has a marketing and communications background in both agency and corporate settings. Her experience includes brand platform development, integrated marketing campaigns and public relations.

Northwest Indian Bar Association

The Northwest Indian Bar Association, a not-for-profit organization of Native and Indian law attorneys, judges, spokespersons and students, elected a new governing council. Rion Ramirez of Dorsey & Whitney was named president; Juliana Repp of Columbia Legal Services was named vice president; Gabe Galanda of Williams, Kastner & Gibbs was named treasurer; Lael Echo-Hawk, a reservation attorney for the Tulalip Tribes, was named secretary; and Ron Whitener, Lisa DeCora and Scott Sufficool were named at-large members.

Extra Mile Marketing

Extra Mile Marketing, a marketing company based in Bellevue, hired Elizabeth Baska as principal consultant, media specialist. Previously, Baska was director of new business development for A.H. Belo's Northwest Cable News. Extra Mile Marketing's clients includes Pura Vida Coffee, All Star Fitness, Performance Dimensions Group, Cronus Health and Glasco Designs.

Bridgeways

Vicki Hoffman will retire from Bridgeways, a private not-for-profit corporation that serves adults with chronic mental illness in Snohomish County, in early 2004. Hoffman, who has been with the company for 15 years, is Bridgeway's executive director. The board of directors is currently searching for her replacement.

Columbia Athletic Clubs

Columbia Athletic Clubs, a locally owned chain of health and fitness facilities, opened a seventh facility, Columbia Fitness, in Issaquah. Columbia fitness, managed by Leslie Gourlie, is located at 371 N.E. Gilman Blvd.

Short Cressman & Burgess

Beth M. Prieve, Michael R. Parker and Janet S. Kim joined Short Cressman & Burgess, a Seattle-based law firm. Prieve's practice focuses on environmental, land use, real estate, and commercial law and litigation. Parker is a licensed physician whose practice emphasizes medical negligence, product liability and personal injury. Kim is a member of the firm's Construction Practice Group.

Gilmore Research Group

Gilmore Research Group, a Seattle-based marketing research consulting firm, named Dr. Jeanne Wintz senior vice president. Wintz has 20 years of experience in designing, implementing and analyzing marketing research and will head Gilmore's Health Care Marketing Research Team.

United Way

United Way of King County is seeking 100 volunteer tax preparers to help with the Earned Income Tax Credit program. The program is designed to help immigrants and low-income families in White Center and workers at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport prepare income tax forms. Volunteers with Cambodian, Vietnamese, Spanish, Somali, Amharic, Oromo and Tagalog language skills are especially needed. An extensive background in tax law is not necessary. Madison Marquette

The Seattle-area offices of retail developer and property manager Madison Marquette landed two large management and leasing contracts: the 250,000-square-foot Lake Forest Park Towne Centre on the north end of Lake Washington, and the 360,000-square-foot Commons at Issaquah. Lake Forest tenants include Albertsons, Rite Aid, Third Place Books and Jo-Ann Fabrics & Crafts. Commons at Issaquah tenants are Target, Safeway, Ross, Long's Drug and Bed, Bath & Beyond.

PJ Santos was promoted to senior real estate manager at developer Opus Northwest in Bellevue. Santos lately has led Opus’ mixed-use project that’s under construction on the Bremerton waterfront. That public-private project includes a conference center, hotel, retail, office and parking garage. Santos previously worked on Opus’ Sammamish ParkPlace and Opus Eastpointe office buildings in Issaquah. Santos holds an undergraduate degree from UCLA and an MBA from the University of Washington.

Julie Lin and Christine Morgan became sales associates in John L. Scott Real Estate's Magnolia office. Gregory Hancock joined the Burien office. Stu Cradduck and Sharon Kienzle started in the Monroe office. Loretta Ames and Keith Zeiler joined the Kirkland office. Richard Dowd started in Mercer Island and Harald Preston-Moore in Laurelhurst. Dave Wiggins became the managing broker for John L. Scott's 26-associate Kingston office. Wiggins was assistant manager of the residential agency's Silverdale office, where he worked since 1997.
