Crowley Maritime

Crowley Maritime Corp. named Nathaniel F. Leonard director of operations in Valdez, Alaska. Leonard has been with Crowley since graduating from Maine Maritime Academy as deck officer in 1983, and most recently held the position of operations manager. Crowley is an Oakland, Calif.-based company engaged in liner services, contract towing and transportation, energy support services, vessel management and petroleum and chemical marine transport.

Ivey Imaging

Ivey Imaging, a Seattle-based graphic imaging firm, named John Tubbs chief operating officer. Tubbs is the former vice president of operations at Optiva Corp. and has more than 30 years of operations management experience.

Miller Nash

Miller Nash, a Portland-based law firm, named David Schoolcraft partner. Schoolcraft is a member of the firm's business department and focuses his practice on corporate representation, technology, healthcare and data privacy.

Preston Gates & Ellis

Preston Gates & Ellis, a Seattle-based law firm, named seven new partners across the firm in Seattle, Washington, D.C. and Taipei, China. They are James J.Y. Chen, a Taipei-based partner in the corporate practice; David A. Domansky, a Seattle-based partner in the municipal practice; Annette D. Elinger, a Seattle-based partner in the corporate practice; Ellen Livingston-Behan, a Washington, D.C.-based partner in the federal policy group; Denise L. Stiffarm, a Seattle-based municipal partner; Lawrence M. Sung, a Washington, D.C.-based intellectual property partner; and Matthew S. Topham, a Seattle-based partner in the corporate practice.

For the ninth consecutive year, agent Jerry Mahan of John L. Scott Real Estate was the 3,300-agent company's top sales producer in 2003. He closed 389 transactions totaling more than $105 million. Realtor Magazine named Mahan to its Top 100 Realtors in the nation list in 2001, 2002 and 2003. He has been a real estate agent for more than 21 years, 11 of those with John L. Scott. He specializes in new construction, land sales and residential re-sale. Also, the John L. Scott Foundation donated $25,000 to the KISS 106.1 FM's "radiothon" for Children's Hospital. A total of $880,000 was raised. All funds go for patient care.

Lorig Associates

Stephen Holt has joined Seattle-based Lorig Associates as project manager for the Salishan project. Salishan is a 188-acre community in Tacoma. It is being redeveloped in conjunction with the Tacoma Housing Authority. The project entails razing 855 rental units and building 970 rental and 300 for-sale homes as well as a new neighborhood center and parks. Work is to begin this summer. Holt, who has 30 years of experience in housing and public administration, was director of the Snohomish County Department of Planning and Development Services, executive director of the Housing Authority of Snohomish County and director of housing programs for the Puget Sound Regional Council.

Windermere

Lesly Brandt and Patrick Kane joined the Ballard office of Windermere Real Estate as sales associates. Brandt is new to real estate, and Kane was a sales associate with Landmark Group in Seattle.

NAIOP

  • Kathleen P. Wilcox, president and CEO of the Washington Software Alliance, will speak at NAIOP's 7 a.m. Feb. 18 meeting at the Grand Hyatt, 721 Pine St., Seattle. She will discuss the state of the software industry. Cost is $30 for National Association of Industrial and Office Properties members and $45 for nonmembers.
